Edit:

Here are two new startup community currencies I found while surfing Wikipedia.

ShireSilver is particularly interesting as they denominate their credit card size "money" in parts of grams of gold/silver. I expect the next step would be to have a magnetic strip on the back to swipe and have the card reloadable in grams of gold/silver.

We have formed to bring barter opportunities to your area. In today’s economy both consumer and small business owner alike need a boost. Our dollar is depreciating daily and many people have started to feel the need to voluntarily trade with something more secure.
DelValley Silver is doing this using an asset-based barter trade unit namely silver tokens as the marker for our trades. With our business model, both the consumer and the merchant benefit, which should be the case in any free trade – Yes?
Our silver always sells as close to spot as possible. We aim to keep costs down, promoting beautiful silver medallions at a reasonable price.
Feel free to check us out and we welcome your feedback.

Shire Silver is proud to be selling our silver and gold trade cards. We believe that these will show the world a better way to save, spend, and share precious metals.

AGG, you r past posts seem on topic but this one I'm not sure. Are you trying to making others aware of new dealers then this should be in the Dealers forum. If you are farming GIM for your own buisness venture that is not ok. Please clarify what purpose these links are being posted, thanks.

I accept that a brief introduction would have been in order. I posted late at night just after finding them. I'll add something to the OP. Thanks.

I assumed that 'digital gold' was in the Federal Reserve section of the forum to give a place to discuss alternatives to the Fed Reserve and since I posted in this heading; I expected that would be figured out.

Both of these new types of 'businesses' relate to the topic of using gold/silver for trade use as community currencies. They are somewhat similar to the liberty dollar concept; but also each is very different.
I'm not involved in any way at this time. I Found them when surfing Wikipedia for community currencies.

That being said; it would surely be appropriate for GIM to have a section to directly discuss Gold/Silver community currencies. That would seem directly in line with the statement: Gold IS Money.
