I guess the earnings weren't as good as expected yesterday? Or does it just follow its own "established pattern" of always getting hammered right after earnings announcement? I had a feeling it was going to happen, so I sold 75% of my GSS position yesterday. Is it too early to get back in now after it's 12% fall? :)

It's down 16% from the recent high, back where it was in mid-September. I wouldn't get greedy on the downside.

On a two year weekly chart this looks like a buy point.

GSS was one of the 3 holdings i had sold. After earnings and expected correction of gold. My first buy point for GSS is around 4.20s.
If gold does do 1320. Probably upper 3$ will be a dream intra day low entry.
On radar, if and when i buy i will post.

Well meet biggest chicken Me. Looking at USD above 80 confotably trading for quitesomtime before half day open of US markets.
And more importantly AUD significant decline along with all commodiites like base metals.
Saw some nice 3-4% decline in silver prices and for that over 3% decline of silver the stocks HL and CDE were getting away with
just 1.5% losses!!

I never sell undervalued so when i got overvalued (sT daily) good prices for HL, CDE and GSS started selling half position. By end of that half fingers got itchy and sold the remaining half as well :(

Sad If only for that 3-4% had given possible 8% decline i would not have sold anything at all.

Apparently safty and preservation of gains objective is taking over greed part of me..

Go USD go and silver and gold come down fast pls for me to load again :(

I might be a bit of a permabull but todays down in commodities is simply the Chinese changing the rules of engagement on their exchanges. They shook out the small guys working on margin by raising requirements thinking this would cool off inflation. I used to think those central planner guys were smart. Not so much anymore.
Also recently they announced no more real estate loans in the short term. Yeah, like that will work. The property speculators will do what they have been doing for a year or two now and borrow outside the mainland to make it look like they are paying cash. Failing that they will pile into equities. Tough to trust numbers from any govt so it''s hard to figure out if they are cooling off the housing market there.
