Thanks to all who were and are willing to take the time to answer questions about gold & other precious metals.
I lurked a year at the old site then was able to register & tried to soak it all in.
I was a total newb & knew absolutely nothing about the value of gold & silver.
In the past I would have probably carted my latest storage auction find to sell at the auction house, or worse yet, tossed out the one because it was missing one of the pearls. :vollkommenauf:
Thanks to my education here, I knew what I found, & was able to place a value on it.
A 1950 High School Class Ring 10K 8.5 grams
A pearl & chip ring 10K 2.1 grams with stones removed
Both stamped 10K & acid tested.
Pure Gold content value at today's spot... $192.00
My cost for the storage auction...$5.00 plus 4 hours labor to cart the stuff home & sort through. :cool1:
