USA Gold has always, and apparently continues to hawk higher-premium "semi-numismatic" (overpriced) gold in favor of straight bullion gold for the sake of bleeding their customers of higher than usual profit margins, using the well-worn marketing hype that "pre-1933" gold is somehow better or safer than more modern bullion gold because "the government can't confiscate it". This old line is of course total hogwash, as the government that makes the rules can CHANGE the rules at any time.
Stick with purely bullion related items, or if you particularly like European fractionals such as Sovereigns or Francs, shop around for a better price and don't allow yourself to be pulled in to a bunch of marketing hype and misrepresentation.

There are a few places pushing that pre 1933 gold is safe from confication line. Small wonder gold bugs get a bad rep.

I remember when USAG still had a forum on their site, and the lengths that they went to to keep down the "bad publicity" comments. One in particular was an elderly lady who had been sold a bill of goods by USAG in the form of a quantity of British Sovereigns. This customer held for a considerable time, and watched the market rise a couple of hundred dollars as I recall (back in the days of 300-400 gold). When she got ready to sell, she still received LESS for the coins than she had paid Centennial. She let that fact be known in the open forum, and several of us read it before it was discovered and subsequently CENSORED by USAG staff. Left a bad taste in my mouth for that particular company, and I never did business with them as a result.

I have talked to Kal and he makes sense... so far. I have made no purchase from him. Are there any of you who have had any personal experience with him?
