Check this out folks! I have one of these I bought brand new in 1986, and mine is the only one like it I have ever seen.
Hell this is the first one I have ever seen for sale. There are only 7000 in the US, Hungary was still communist at that time, Berlin wall was still up.
So if you have FRN's burning a hole in your britches, this is a nice rare little AK.~:grin10:

I would not go over board-the Chinese Norinco folders indentical to the Hungarian one pictured command a much higher price.
The few Hungarians on Gunsamerica sell for about $1200-1800.This one sold for $1600.00 new in the box with all accessories.

Compare to the Chinese AK underfolder Norinco, (type 56) $2600.00 plus +++

An AK is an AK is an AK-unless you are talking about a Soviet Russian milled receiver......sorry.

Thanks 917601 but I just said they are rare, not that they are the best built out there. IMO the most impressive AK I ever held and shot was a pre-ban full stocked Yugoslavian model.
That sucker was built for full sized people.
I find it neat to have the only pre-ban Hungarian on the firing line, thats all.

Yeah it's rarity is what makes it special.
That's a very cool looking little AK! Are parts easy enough to come by/interchangeable with other ak's?

Yep totally interchangable with other AK's. As for parts I have only shot it around 11,300 times so it hasn't needed any yet.~:bear_tongue:

I have a soviet milled AK-74 and I paid $200 for it. At that price everyone should have one but at $1000?
Too much for me!

I used to have that EXACT same AK... box, extras and all. $2,600. ???:36_1_25: Thats NUTS! I'm very sorry I sold it.... because of the money but I don't miss the gun. I had an ammo can full of copper wash steel cased Russian ammo... corrosive ****. I cleaned and cleaned the gun immediately after firing but did not disasseble and wash it.... so.... it rusted shut on me 2 times.
I had to open the stock, place it on the floor, and put my shoe on the action lever ang push hard to get it open. At the time I did not have any non-corrosive ammo and did not have a source for any.
I switched to AR's and 5.56 and have never had any issues. Mil-spec parts are all over the place and I know many ex-military that are very qualified should I ever need help with anything.
5.56 is common and probably always will be because its our military round.
7.62X39 used to be cheap but its not anymore and with future import restrictions likely that might be a problem.
