Nothing better than to ward off social corruption, than to list the 'lone nut jobs' as failures of the old world.

I didn't see "The Art of War" by Sun Tsu in there.

Personally, I don't think books about clever strategy like Machiavelli's "Prince" or "The Protocols" (not really a book) screwed up the world. The clever strategists already existed, the books only helped people to understand the mentality and defend against it.

Hee hee!

Hard to point a finger, though, because many of the malign acts perpetrated in the name of these books were committed by people who never actually read them, or who had severe reading-comprehension disabilities.

And if one carefully read all the works of Marx, one might conclude that:

Capitalism exploits the lower classes, kind of like every other system :(
Karl Marx should be read for entertainment value only ;) :p
Karl Marx himself should never be allowed to formulate social policy of any sort

In so many cases the evil stems from poor reading comprehension skills.

Hey up Drill,

I for one am absolutely amazed that this list did NOT include,

'My Little Pony'

Now that is one rotten piece of work, certainly top 5 on this list for what it has done to mankind,

The other that frosts me is 'See Spot Run', but it really doesn' t matter as our graduating kids can't read it anyway, let alone comprehend the symbolism.

I'm torn between two titles by Freud, obviously "The Interpretation of Dreams" and his lesser known book "On Coca" extolling the use of cocaine as an anti-depressant.

10. Malleus Maleficarum- Guide to torturing witches and religious dissenters, but didn't CAUSE the persecutions
9. Coming of Age in Samoa- definately; Mead was a psycho
8. The Prince- Nothing wrong with this book
7. Mein Kampf- It had no connection to Hitler's rise to power
6. The Pivot of Civilization- Never heard of it
5. Democracy and Education- never heard of it
4. Baby and Childcare- Dr. Spock? Probably related to "Coming of Age in Samoa"
3. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion- It's not a book, and it's a forgery, but a scarily accurate one
2. The Manifesto of the Communist Party- Wholeheartedly agree
1. Darwin’s Black Box- What is this, Creationism???

I would add the Koran and the Talmud
