Just got my new Ryedale, and I gotta say...WOW!!! This little sucker is AWESOME!!! I just sorted 4 boxes of pennys ($100 worth), and it worked like a dream (100% accurate)!!! Screw hand-sorting...this thing is a must-have. With pre-82 copper pennys worth .023 right now, I am more than doubling my money. Got about $30 face worth of coppers, so I just got about $70 worth of copper for my $30 FRN investment. At this rate, I will have my machine paid off in about 5 weeks as I am doing 8 boxes a week from here on out ($200 face). That means I should realize about $80 profit a week if this ratio holds. I'm gonna need some 5 gallon buckets and 55 gallon drums soon at this rate!!! Best thing is, it can sort canadian nickels too!!! Man...I am in LOVE!!!

when you say copper pennies are worth .023 right now, who is buying at that price?

i lurk realcent.com, but the most anyone is buying (or even selling) there is like .015

just got into sorting pennies, but i'm good with doing it by hand for an hour or two whenever i feel the need.

Suffice to say that I can get the full .023. You can't, but I can, and I am not sharing on this one...sorry. The point of the thread was to praise the efficiency of the machine, and it's worth to ME. Not all have the same contacts and can command the same pricing for what they have.

What model did you get? Anyone know if he is ever going to actually produce the $100 version for mass consumption?

no worries...enjoy!

i'm just not ready to take it to that next level...storage, dumping zincs at banks, etc. makes it more of a job than what it is to me, something that relaxes me on the weekends.

I got the full-size model for around $500. I do not know when or if he is going to do a "budget model". It is worth it for me, as I can roll a lot of volume with my present situation. My bank is willing to order me $500 worth of pennies a week (20 boxes), and I have a coin counting machine at my branch I can use for free, so the inconvenience is minimal. As I said, to each his own, but I am THRILLED with this unit!!!

Barrettone,
I share that love with you.
Be careful. It becomes addicting.
I sort $100 face a week. But I am thinking about stepping my pace up. I guess I better, Between Youself, Ryedale, Ruprick, and I we will run the state dry!

Not to hijack the thread, but did Ruprick make the transition over to GIM2. Have not seen any of his posts. Guess I could check the members list, but figured this was a good way to get my post count rolling again:cheerful:

No, I have not seen him here yet!
I sure hope he is coming.
Seems like he was infrequent on GIM the last couple months.
Makes me wonder what he is up to!!!!!
Increasing the stash no doubt.
Ruprick your missed.

Well, just did eight boxes, and averaged about 30% coppers. Ruprick and Rydale told me to expect about 28% in Michigan, so they are pretty much "on the money" so to speak. It took about an hour to do all the processing. I'm gonna do some Canadian nickels this weekend after I make my "run for the border" tomorrow...he-he.
