Guess the flow of ATBs has slowed down since the initial frenzy? I have one set unopened 2010 bullion (Prudential) and would consider it only if they are all perfect - right. Maybe 2011s in tubes have better chance of not being mishandled, and some P pucks are better than the first one, HS. But unless you get 69DMPLs or SP70s, not much justifying the cost of grading IMO.

When silver blows (yeah, I know I've been waiting for over ten years too) these puppies will look like half-ounce gold coins (today) to you.

Buy the SPs they look great!

And an order on 30 Jun after 24 hours of sales (just after the Silver Proof ASE became available):

#37814xxx - so ~20k orders in that interval

Cool. Yeah the ASE numbers from today will make additional estimations worthless.

Thank goodness. That's the last for me. Too bulky to have more and store them in the mint boxes.

I found an industrial motor shipping box (reliance, I think) that fits 28 of them; 7 in a row, 2 wide, 2 high. That's half the series. Now I have to find another one, but I have about 5 years to do that.

I finally got around to picking up just one GC, late Friday night, order #37846XXX.
I also spent some of my ATB funds on a 2010 and 2011 Austrailan Kangaroo at Sunset Silver coin, when I
saw them I just had to have them! which I sure some of you know what I mean (smile) preaching to the choir.
Come on 7/28, so I can get the 2010 set complete.

I'd expect it the week of the 10th. Anything earlier would be a bonus.

You might be right on. My order tracking now says:

Order number: 37794xxx

Order Date: 06/29/2011 at 12:04 AM

2010 ATB SILVER COIN - GRAND CANYON 1 $279.95 $279.95 1 unit backordered. Expected to ship on 07/04/2011.

I have no idea why the tracking system says 12:04 AM when I ordered 12:04 PM. But I looked at the previous coin orders on the tracking page and they all have it wrong as AM.

Expected to ship on 07/04/2011.

That date will move up a day every day until it is actually shipped....bet it says "Expected to ship on 07/05/2011" now

(I doubt they could ship on July 4th anyway)

1st 5 days of sale

Hot Springs - 25,000
Yellowstone - 24,626
Yosemite - 20,511
Grand Canyon - 19,300
Mt. Hood - ?

Slowing down......

I'm surprised that GC is as low considering the popularity of the location.

QUESTION - Have any of my fellow forum members sent any of the "P" mint mark ATB's in for grading? I plan to once I have all five or so of them in hand. I'm undecided about which grading service to use. NGC or PCGS?

The "P"'s I've received so far look outstanding and should grade min. 69 or 70, though I'm not interested in MS69. When you send these thing in, can you specify that you want only those that grade 70 slabbed?

It's been my observation that the raw coins currently fetch more than MS69's.

MrLucky
07-07-2011, 01:23 PM
Well..........PCGS seems to command a higher price. And esthetically the NGC slabs are huge. If that helps.

As for asking them to slab only the 70's, I don't know, but I'm sure they have an option for that. You'll be paying for the examination anyway, why not take the slab? As for raw selling for more than a slabbed 69, you can always crack it out, but in the meantime it'll be protected. And you already have the mint boxes too.
