$229 instead of $279. I buy.
Same here, too hard to resist at a mere 47 dollars per Oz delivered. Especially when AG will be $60 to $70 an Oz by year end...

What a strange journey the 'P' pucks have been. I started off by buying a half dozen Hot Springs coins and steadily reduced the number of coins I purchased with each successive release. By the time Mt. Hood was available I had essentially lost interest in paying exorbitant premiums for the line. Long story short, yeah for me as my procrastination finally paid off . I sure wish procrastinating always worked out this well ;) :p.

Frankly I have all the DMPL bullion ones slabbed - and these SP "P" mint marked satin sand sprayed/finished are quite
REMARKABLE to look at. In fact they to me are better in many ways - all are PCGS slabbed but I'm changing to NGC with the
2011 P & 2012 P & bullion series plural. They are too big either way.
If I had to choose I'd pick the UNC "P" PUCKS first period.
Same thing happened to the SAINTS in the early 1900s - they went proof as satin finish - everybody gave them the fickle finger
and NOW because of that they are really rare.
I see the sales of these falling off a cliff especially in BULLION coins - hells bells MCM has them in 30 HOCKEY PUCK lots of a single coin.
That bodes well for some sort of mintage problem down-the-line. Stay tuned in - if they go belly up - and stop for any reason from sales to
silver supply - well that's one grand time to have a FEW (hundred!).

I keep buying them because I like them. I have never gone wrong with that as my motivation. I keep killing myself for not buying the Unc and Proof buffalo sets with fractionals from the mint at "last chance" for $2,000 apiece because, depsite the fact that I liked them, they were "too expensive." :banghead:
Edit: I guess I can still buy them (at least the proofs, the Unc are unavailable at Apmex):

Me TOO!
TOO many coins at the same time coming out -
they issued more coins in the last five and future five years then they did the first 200 YEARS!
That's why the spouses are slam dunks as well as many silver coins like these as you'll see.

My view of the ATB pucks is simple: These are the first five-ounce silver coins from the US Mint. That fact and my love of collecting silver coins were enough to get me hooked on these. I would like to buy all 50 coins in the set. If nothing else, I will have 250 more ounces of silver. The upside from there is all just gravy.
That being said, I really am not enamored with modern US coin designs. When I look at the Winged Liberty "Mercury" dimes, the Peace dollar, and the Walking Liberty halves, the modern designs just pale. US silver coinage was the best in the world, but now it looks like garbage. The Gettysburg obverse is one of the few that appeal to me, but the modernized Washington reverse just looks wrong to my eyes.

Ok so have any other members experienced what I just found out? I called the Mint this week to cancel my puck due to the repricing as they did NOT honor the new price for those of us that have been in from the beginning via subscription. So I couldn't cancel online and when I called I was told that they could not cancel my order either as it was procured already, WTF is that? Damn thing isn't shipping for another couple of weeks and they can't cancel? Again WTF? I ended up ordering another puck at the new price and will be returning my subscription order when it comes in, this is total BS. I know there have been some discussions on this thread about the new pricing and cancellations but I hadn't read what I just experienced which just goes to prove the schisters that run the US Mint. Unfreakin believeable.....

One problem....the 5 ouncers are not, and have not been, available by subscription...soooooooooo how could you be "in it from the beginning via subscription"....
Things that make you go "Hmmmmmmmmmm"

^^ I was wondering about that too.
Does anyone think that "standard shipping" is actually "standard shipping" and not that "overnight - signature required" madness from earlier?

Great point in looking at the BIG PICTURE. For me personally, these are for deep storage.

You are correct, these are not available by subscription, it seems that way since some of us were foolish enough to order them first day they came out....just seem's like they are for most of us since I am one of many on here that are subscribed to the ASE proofs, uncirc's and annual silver sets, faux pas on my part due to being pissed off when I worte that post

I got mine last Thursday. I'm a climber not a war buff, so I like Yosemite the best so far, then Mount Hood. Hot Springs is the worst so far IMHO.

On 25-OCT, the Glacier National Park "P" puck goes on sale. On 29-NOV, Olympic National Park "P" puck goes on sale. That leaves two of the 2011 "P" pucks, Vicksburg and Chickasaw, still not scheduled for release.

I've got to drop the puck for now. I'll try to grab an eagle or two if I can but won't claw my way toward one. I've burnt too much on the other pucks and dragons to keep up right now. I may sell a set of the 2010 ATB's soon to help feed my habit though. Haven't given it much thought.

As much as I want to continue buying the whole set, Ive given up. Got the 2010 raw and P's and continued with the raw 2011. I think I'm just going to keep up with the raw coins, the premiums are far too heavy IMO.

Not the least bit interested in buying any more P pucks, don't like the finish or should I say the blasted "finishes" :2in1:

I'm done with the 'P' pucks for now as well, but I plan on coming back. IMO the mint is going to either reduce the mintage substantially or bring the premiums down even further sometime next year. Whenever either of those events happen I'll be back in, but not until then.
Hey I got lucky by waiting over a month on the Mt. Hood coin (I told myself they would simply have to lower the price) so perhaps my plan above will pan out for me again ;).
:cake:
Thanks for the heads up, dog.
Got me a glacier. I feel cool.

Got a few of the 2010 sets and the first 2010 mint one, dealers treating these like eagles now, only want to pay a buck or two over melt. I'll sit on the 2010s as they were under 1k a set but wont go for no more at 40 plus an ounce.
Maybe I'm watching to many Pawn Star programs. I have this saying in the back of my mind from Rick.
"...I gotta have it."
Ah, well. We don't go to Ruth's Chris anymore because I can buy cuts fairly close in quality and those cuts finally got the wife to enjoy medium rare. BTW, it takes a Weber, not a Charbroil like Hommel uses to get it right. I'm 50 and just trying to offer a little advise...

I'm still buying, but I must say the last two "raw" bullion ATB coins I bought from MCM were beautiful and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Went out on the Mint's site contemplating on purchasing the 5 oz Gettysburg and could not find it listed. Have I missed the boat on this coin? Been out of town and just thought of it tonight.
