I came late to the ATB party, but after buying a few, I'm hooked! I never cared for oversized generic bullion coins, but the ATB's are in an entirely different class! I'm not considering the numi potential, they just are damn good looking, impressive rounds!

I have the entire 2010 "P" set and was struggling with the decision on the 2011's. Last night, I pulled the trigger and order all 5. I kind of hope they stop production on the 5 oz P pucks. I think I'd rather have a completed set of 10 rather than a completed set of 50.

I think there's a very good chance of that. I don't think there is that much interest in the series. On the other hand, the US Mint spent an enormous amount of fiat, minting SBA's, Sacs and Prez $'s that no one wanted. Go figure!

Can anyone provide for me how many many bullion coins were minted for each of the ATB coins and how coins were minted with P mint mark?
Thank you.

69 FSs:yes: first then: 69 ERs second, OKAY?

Can't go wrong either way - embrace the non-popularity - most the people don't wake up
until they have to pay five times the price.

Remember when gold eagles in one ounce form MINT were only $300?

Now they are $2000 - case closed!:36_1_11:

Slightly off topic, but every time I have collected the years set, I have always bought the proof set quarters to go along with the set.

Both 2010, and 2011 I have bought the SV4 sets
http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=16216&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=45005

So far checking on the mint site they only have the regular 5 quarters for sale.
http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=16454&langId=-1&parent_category_rn=45005

Will they offer the SV4 sets later in the year?

How do the ATB hold up during silver price drops? Anyone?

I would bet money that they will. They really need to update the Product Schedule listings....
http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProdschedView?storeId=10001&catalogId=10001

It would be nice, for planning purposes if nothing else, to see the various release dates of the upcoming products.

I received the Chickasaw ATB puck today from the Mint. A nice coin. Now if I only knew what was coming next.....

Yes, the silver quarter sets went on sale Jan 10th but the SV4 set is the big set that doesn't come out as early as the silver quarter sets do.

Here's a pic of last years SV4 set, it has all 14 coins in it. The dollar coins aren't silver so I wish they'd just drop them and lower the price of the set.

I gave up buying the big silver sets and have just bought the silver quarter sets the last couple of years. I wish I could afford to buy everything I liked on the Mint website but they just make too much stuff I like.

Sorry I guess I was (am) confused. I try not to buy and copper and other stuff (Golden? dollars) so I don't buy the proof set.

If they just sold all the silver coins in one set I might buy it.

I just buy the silver ATB quarter set cause I think they will look sweet with the big pucks in a display case.

This is the best way to spend a grand and get maybe 10 grand in return in years....

What are the odds of getting coins that grade Sp70 when buying from the mint? Does the rim have to be perfect to grade sp70?

does anyone know where i can find a High res photo of one of these coins graded SP70?

Yes, you also get a box and a certificate of authenticity.

With the "P" pucks yes, but I also buy the bullion coins from MCM with no air tites (you can buy them from APMEX and others).

They have a no return policy so beware, but what I have bought from them are at least MS 69 and sweet.

Checking with PCGS I see that approximately ONE chance in FIVE or FOUR is about the way they grade
overall and IT IS FALLING! Toward ONE in SIX.

NGC is showing around one chance in two or three. Grand Canyon was the one with the largest range of grades (62 to 70).

From what I saw with 11 of them last week, I can understand why the grading average is falling.

That avenge is based on people sending in boxes without opening them to try to get "First Strike". I don't care about First strike or other labels so that gives me the advantage of inspecting the coins and only sending the best one's. If i could get a average of 1/2 of the coins coming back as sp70 i think it would be worth it, Heck even one in three sp70s i would still come out ahead.

Yeah wish they would drop the dollars from the set too. Bought the SV4 sets with the 2010, and 2011 sets, figure I'll keep up with them, as long as they run the program.
Wish they would start the 2012 coins already.
