Anyone guess on what the mint is going to do with this current dip on pricing? They have been in the process repricing for a while now after the prices went up. Waiting to see how they compare to the online dealers that now are selling the P.

I just noticed the Mint put the ATB 5 ounce coins back up for sale @ $204.95 each. When did they do this? Last time I looked, they were still off for re-pricing.

The silver offerings don't have a pricing table at the US Mint like Gold and Platinum. In order to change pricing, they have to submit a notice in the Federal Register. Here is the last one they released: https://www.federalregister.gov/articles/2012/01/06/2012-28/pricing-for-america-the-beautiful-five-ounce-silver-uncirculated-coinstm

Maybe this year they'll create a pricing table for silver as well. This would allow them to do the repricing quicker.

Update: Looks like they decided to just put them back up for sale, were not available this morning.

Well piss on me. I was saving up to buy the complete set in march.
I just picked up 3 Olympic park P's graded PCGS FS 69 for $200 a pop.

TiKi, the Mint just put them back up for sale @ $204.95 each.

You didn't miss out after all.

That was fast! Checked less than an hour ago and they were still repricing. Looks like they are sticking with the lower price. Good news.

I took your advice and got on these, thanks for the tip! I'm not a numi guy, but these Chickasaw SP69's are really nice! They are also the first slabbed coins I've bought

Huge difference over the business strikes that I've been buying from Provident! I just might do this again.
Thanks again, HS!

I think the US Mint is going to POP these up from $205 to around $255 or higher real quick.

They must have got the word that silver is really going up because they are dragging their feet
on the so-called new pricing on the web.

A word to the wise jump over to MCM and grab one or more at $229 before they go up $100
more. ~ HS

I did.

They got the new Chickshaws too in "P" I ordered them. Give them a call.

Tell them HISTORY STUDENT sent ya and with that and three bucks you can get a cup of coffee.

Reminds me of my dog chasing his tail. He did catch it every now and then and just layed there and chewed on it. :y: :banghead:

You are welcome. Frankly the mint packaging is fine - BUT long term having played the NUMI game and read "THE MODERN BOOK" hint by Jordan
I'd rather have them slabbed in SP69 for the $25 difference. Silver is the Achilles Heal - it REALLY IS!

(and I just read an article on how his ACHILES SONS really screwed over the folks that fought and killed him - reminds me of the US GOVY after the Civil War and what they did to the INDIANS that backed the SOUTH - can you spell ANNILATION - or EXTERMINATION? All the way to Wounded Knee. INDIAN Women and kids murdered.)

:love30:BUY these puppies hand over fist they are FIVE OUNCE SILVER BARS in hiding. Scew the bullion ones at 100K unless you are buying CHICKSAW bullion ones....

Stay with the satin finish SP69s at around $230 slabbed NGC is good enough. :hahaha: If I'm wrong make them a fancy dinner plate. HOWEVER -I will not be wrong.

27K to 32K MINTAGE for a 5 OZ SILVER coin like this that you can eat off like a plate is unbelievable. AT $230 evey - I died and went to COLLECTORS heaven...

By the way all this action against the PMs is UPPER US dollar action in price - the PMs are dirt cheap NOW. :hahaha: BUY low ain't much lower they can go....

Enough said.

Been to most of them in the last few (3) years - YOU are so RIGHT.

I've said it many times but one should beg, borrow, buy, or steal the 5 ounce's "P" on the 2011s.

My group of Vicksberg & Chicksaw "P"s were delivered tonight.

These PUPPIES will be better then the UHRs (you-know-who) told you about in 2009.

Figure these are HIDING 5 oz'er bars NUMISMATICALLY speaking at about a grand or two grand each each in two years.

BUY cheap NOW - boys and girls - buy cheap now....

Try MCM and get the puppies slabbed - SP69s are great long term....

$230 ish each....

If 5oz are rounded bars, what do ye call these?
i have e few lying around somewhere :p

Why 2011 ATBs? What about the 2010 P ATBs?

HS,
As you know I missed out on the UHR so I don't want to miss this one...
I have purchased all the 2010's from the mint and there still in there unopened boxes. Should I keep ordering that way or do you think the SP69's are that much better? And I will follow that up with are the PCGS SP69's any better the NGC SP69's or are they about equal?

SP = Specimen Proof. My understanding is that these are not as "pretty" as a "proof" but close to it and of higher quality than the bullion version.
DMPL = Deep Mirror Proof Like. My understanding is that these are not as "pretty" as a "proof" but close to it as well.

In the end, it is numismatic jargon. Each of the coin grading services have their own jargon to some extant. More like a marketing ploy than an actual grading if you ask me.

From PCGS:

DMPL
Short for deep mirror prooflike. (It is added to the grade for those with stunning reflective surfaces..best looking coin for grade)

SP
Short for Specimen Strike. (it is a designation for uncirculated (not proof) coins )

If you can buy either NGC or PCGS at SP69 (the cheapest way) near MINT price that's really great. They are authenticated that way
for later and not at your total expense.

I give PCGS the winner by a head in a mile race against NGC. Both great horses for the numismatic track. The US Mint packaging
is running about 10 lengths behind. Like a a long shot that the buyers will want you to take off a % when you sell or trade later.

But all this is just my opinion: buy THINGS all three ways however.

I worked for years as a pari-mutuel supervisor at Hollywood Park & Santa Anita.

My VICKSBERGS & CHICKSAWS (NGC SP69s from MCM) made their appearance yesterday.

If I was a riverboat gambler rather then a broke downhearted hoping & wishing horse player - I'd go whole HOG on the SP69s
at close to mint price slabbed by NGC or PCGS - BIG TIME.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ywZ-YMXROQ

I shoulda woulda coulda (downhearted) I did not BUY each one in groups of 20 for 100 ounces each.

Irons riverboat gambler song about the great sinking of gold.

Someone predicted here the mint was going to do exactly this with the ATB 2011. They have kept the price low in order to move them and it seems to be working well.

Latest mintage figures. During the 2 week suspension they actually went negative as some people returned the coins. Any predictions if Chickasaw is a future "key" of 2011? Do not see 3000 more sold off before or IF the 2012 starts coming onto the scene.
