As a former Marine, Ok I will say something..What this Marine is doing is showing respect to all his brothers in arms..The ones that have survived, and the ones that have gave their lives IN THE DEFENSE OF THIS NATION!...He is not paying Homage to any politician, or goverment, or gloryifing any war...He is paying Homage to his fellow veterans! As far as his loyalty, being part of the problem or part of the solution, I can see where this is going..He is not showing loyalty to the Goverment, but to the veterans passing before him.. I have seen combat twice, and as some know, I'am rated 100% disabled for wounds received during combat..I have been asked..did you serve for the love of your country? and I tell them, and I will tell you..NO! I served for that man next to me in that foxhole, so that we both can make it back home alive...There are Many of us, that don't believe in the reason's for war, or why our goverment has sent us here or there for their own agenda, but we go..because we know, those that are going without question ( due to their young age, or a warp sense of glory), or because they are just following orders...don't stand a chance with out us..
