He says: "And, the price of 1 oz gold pamp suisse went up over saturday night!!
from my check out:
*Attention – Due to the uncertainty in the global precious metals markets, we will not be able to accept any additional orders until the global markets re-open in Asia. We expect to be accepting orders around 6:15 pm EST. Sunday August 7th, 2011, following the market open.
I thought I slept in for all of Sunday and the markets were open! I've never seen Apmex change their price over the weekend.
Going to be very interesting tomorrow."

I would say they don't know. It could go big either way. I think they are betting on the upside. Why would you stop selling if prices are going to go down? With the US downgraded I think we will see a run on PMs and then a correction. Whatever happens I'm gonna make some popcorn and watch the show.

Right, tune it at the Asia open tonight. I'll have a glass of wine (or three) instead of popcorn though.

Apmex says gold is currently at $1680. The chart listed here says $1665. Bloomberg says $1652.
What exactly is gold valued at right now?

Maybe its a double psych. Tank the market again (just not as bad as 2008), leave you for a weekend of fear saturation, close off metal trading during that time to further the fear. Then open Monday, with barely a hiccup (all for naught), everyone makes their move into the metals (while there is still a chance), then tank it........... Thats my guess and its probably as good as any other that gets posted. Personally, I hope it gets pounded and I can buy some, or take off and I'm good to go. Crazy sh*t going on these days. Best TV I've watched in years.

Yeah, I understand that. Just seems there's a big disagreement on what that ending price was. The difference between Bloomberg and Apmex is damn near 2%.

I considered buying an ounce of gold today, but decided to hang with the kids and family instead, and keeps the $ for back to school items for the kids (3 iPads?).
I'll watch it soar overnight, but won't kick myself unless it jumps $300 or more.
I do expect we will see $1,700 within the next 24 hours.

IMHO, there will be financial panic on Monday in the fincancial markets and a flee to PM's. Those already in PM's are playing their hand of cards well.
We will see Monday evening when the dust settles.
