I have a friend who knows I "like to collect coins". She has quite a number (maybe 100 different coins?) of old foreign coins. Several countries are represented, and some of the dates go back to the 1600s. Also, there were some coins that she said were Roman. I feel pretty comfortable with the US coinage, but I don't have a clue on the others. Does anyone have a website (or several sites) that would help me identify them for her? She is not really looking to sell as her father gave them to her and they have sentimental value, but she does want to know what she has. Thanks.

... should help you identify a good majority of them.

I like this site:

http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pays.php

I've been able to find every foreign coin I've received over the years here. Has pictures to compare and lists the composition of each coin.

YOU HAVE lots of great assistance above.

Make sure to look for GOLD coins first...
