I'm curious to see what people think about things like this. Diamond in the rough? Junk? Deal, or no deal?

NO DEAL. Anyone who believes that an antique dealer wouldn't search this stuff deserves what they get. Vintage coins, especially graded ones, are very easy to look up and may be worth many thousands of dollars. As such there's simply no way the seller doesn't have the time to be bothered with checking the lot. Considering he's selling 90% coins and red star notes in a separate lots it's clear he knows what is what ;).

Junk. There's a reason the seller is listing the items like this and it's not because he doesn't want to go through everything. Don't ever buy something off ebay unless the seller clearly describes what you'll be receiving and you're sure you know what you're bidding on.

yeah, that's what I'm thinking too. It wouldn't be hard to sit down at the computer and look that stuff up! He also has auctions for the same lot that's going up to $70 now.

No deal!! You have no idea what you're buying.
You would probably get about 15 dollars worth for your 60 dollars.

Dig through your spare change jar, (as someone else mentioned today) strain a bottle of goldschlager for flakes, dig through your wallet for some wrinkled dollar bills, (or the fresh off the press ones and call them uncirculated), buy a handful of 1 grain gold 'bars', get a couple of new coin rolls from the bank, a stack of $5-$10 'proof' sets, and make a killing. Anyone who complains must just be bitter their 'random' lot wasn't all winners.
1 roll 2010 pennies = .50
1 1 grain gold bar = $5
6 well worn wheat cents = $1. maybe
1 1987 proof set = $5
1 1953 dime = $3
1 1977 dollar bill = $1
toss in another 4 'old' nickels
I'd take $60 for that lot all day long

I believe it is a totally unsearched lot, except for this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1884-O-O-MORGAN-SILVER-DOLLAR-ANACS-MS-61-VAM-6-TOP-100-/350484465875?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item519a8088d3 and this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1885-MORGAN-SILVER-DOLLAR-NGC-MS-63-BLAST-WHITE-/370538961495?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item5645d7da57 and this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1953-2-BILL-UNITED-STATES-NOTE-RED-SEAL-/350477014934?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519a0ed796 and this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1-FRANKLIN-SILVER-HALF-DOLLAR-ROLL-20-HALVES-/350482090239?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item519a5c48ff and...oh, hell - there's just too many to list. But the rest haven't been searched, I'm sure. Just ask the 106 people who have already bought.

I don't know guys, I think I see a Suisse Pamp gold bar in there with a few other gold coins. Surprising that they have went to all the trouble of putting up a colorful website but didn't glance in their 'drawer' and see what I am seeing. Oh well, their loss is my gain.
After that I am going to throw my savings into those mini gold St Gaudens.
