Model 1 Sales (yeah, I know):
20 inch Shaw barrel w/steel gas block
Phantom flash hider (1/2x36 thread)
7.62x39 bolt with "enhanced" (longer) firing pin
ASC LLC (formerly C Products) 10 round and 30 round mags
Fluted free-float tube

Daniel Defense receiver/bolt carrier
Bushmaster lower
ARMS base
Leupold 1-4x scope

I plan on doing some hunting with this rig, and also wanted something in a heavier caliber than 223 that the wife could handle (the 308 beats her up a little).

My goal is to build a rifle capable of reliably handling Russian and US steel-cased ammo. I had to open up the gas block port a bit (wasn't cycling) and I initially had a RRA 2-stage FCG that wouldn't allow hard enough hammer fall which resulted in a few misfires. Replaced it with standard BM FCG and ordered a Wolff extra-power hammer spring for added insurance.

Hard to shoot for groups at the local range...hunting season is upon us and the firing line was packed with front-stuffers blasting away and fogging the air. :mad_m:

Will post more later. Here are some preliminary targets.

That Looks good SC. I like the idea. What kind of budget is required? (ballpark)

~$500 for the complete upper. If you salvage parts from a 223 upper...about half that.

Spikes Tactical and others make them as well
