I am in Poland and I was in the local open air market when I noticed a guy had a boxtop set up on a crate, and it had some silver coins and bars on it. I left and got my wife [I don't speak Polish], but when I returned he had packed up; but he was still there. He replaced the coins and bars with a sign stating he buys coins. He took a few coins out, and I purchased a 5 Zlotych Queen Jadwiga 1933; a 10 Zlotych Queen Jadwiga 1932 and an English Half Crown, 1941, for a slight premium over spot. They were all in good condition, not worn out. I took some pictures, however, I only have this netbook and no editing software to reduce the sizes. I will upload when I get home next week.

I have gone back a couple of times but he hasn't been there. I did some investigation and it looks like the bars I saw he had out are from the Poland National Bank and are a type of collector or art bar. I haven't seen a coin shop here or in Warsaw. Tomorrow I am going to the CZ border so I will look around there.

You are the reason I knew what to look for! Thank you for your recommendation, for I at least had half a clue!

If he shows up again I will try to get one of those bars.

By the way, I was at the Warsaw airport when they had the crash landing the other day, it stopped in front of my gate.
We got a free night at the hotel and two meals, but the second day we rented a car and drove to Wroclaw, and got a refund for the air tickets at the local airport. Long drive however.
