Good deal, I wonder if my GSG-5 will like it.
Hi, I had problems about 5 years ago with Federal Champion. This was the blue 50rnd. box not the "Value pak". I had about a case that I bought over a year when it was on sale.( so different lots). I returned it to a major "outdoor" chain. They don't take ammo back but after a consultation with the Gunsmith they did. I have used Federal w/o problems, 22LR Gold Medal,American Eagle and tons of Centerfire . The Champion 22 all went bang but was really dirty with excessive leading. It jammed up 2 revolvers and would not feed through my two friends Browning Buckmark. Just my experience and I hope Federal has straightened it out. I don't know if this is the same Champion as in the 50 rnd box but I suspect it is. Regards, Mike

The local WalMart here sells 550 Federal value packs for $14-$15 and some change, so it's not that great of a deal. But if you have one of those Cabela's $10 off $50 purchase coupons, then it makes this deal worth jumping on.

You may be right, or it may be the regional thing. I know I just bought a box of Winchester 555 value pack last week for $15.50 or something like that, and remember the Federal value packs being pretty much the same price (or slightly less expensive since they have fewer rounds in each box).

I've always had issues with federal 22s in my autoloaders. I switched to Remington for just that reason.

I've had the exact opposite experience. I don't even use Remington in revolvers, the cases are slighly oversized and get stuck after firing.
This is a good forum for info on rimfires:

For some reason, all 3 of my .22 autoloaders ( Old Marlin 60's) jam with just about anything but Federal Automatch Bulk Pack 325 (round nosed lead) from WallyWorld. They function flawlessly with that ammo. Go figure? They will not feed hollowpoints at all...
