So is it safe to assume silver will be "tanking" in the 24-48 hours after this sale. Is that how the APMEX 24 hour sale indicator works???

anyone know what the normal price is for these?
They have this "sale" on occasion.
I've bought in the past @ $1.99 over spot, when they were selling SAEs @ spot + ~$3.79

They have been running flash sales all summer long, and recently brought 'em back again,
interesting to me anyway,
and yes, when I get the email of a .99 over, I look real close to see if it is time to pick up some more,
and I will get some of these before the sale goes off,

I was looking at their generic silver yesterday before the sale went live. They were charging $1.99 over, but I think you had to buy a nice quantity to get that price. So, $0.99 for any quantity seems pretty good by their standards.
For me, it wouldn't be attractive if my local shop hadn't "run out" of generic silver recently. I usually buy in frequent small lots, cash and carry. They are usually spot + $1.50 with no sales tax or shipping. My suspicion is that they pulled their stock and are waiting for prices to get back in the high 30s, but i can't verify. Anyway, this Apmex deal is tempting as I have been shut out lately on generics.

Nice job!
My local went high roller around here, and went to $3 over on stuff.
Po'd me to no end.

Interesting to note that Apmex buys these bars back for a little over spot so the spread is quite minimal.

Hi, I don't think that's too out of line.Unless you are ordering smaller amounts. For small amounts you're probably better off locally. And like auto buying what's the price out the door? Regards, Mike

Here's an example, Provident has Buffalo Rounds at $33.01, at the exact same time the "bar special" at AMPEX is $32.96. That is $.06 a TOZ less. However, shipping at Provident is as listed below, see above for AMPEX.
So if you spend $499.99 at AMPEX shipping is $19.95, Provident is $8.95.
Example: 15 Buffalo Rounds at Provident [495.15] shipped, $504.10
15 AMPEX Bars [494.40] shipped, $514.35, meaning the AMPEX special cost $10.25 more out the door.
However, I don't think Provident gives out popcorn at Christmas.
I keep going to AMPEX and price the out the door prices and end up buying at Provident.
Too bad because often AMPEX has a better selection, but the out the door on silver always seems to end up higher. However, I am a tiny little buyer, not $25K at a pop, so you rich guys are better off at AMPEX. Local is not an option, tax is charged in my state, and I have yet to find a local dealer with any kind of good prices.
I will concede that $10.25 is not a huge amount on a $500 purchase, but that is shipping for my next order at Provident. At AMPEX it helps them pay for the mortgage on the Federal Reserve building they bought. I purchase on average a couple times a month, those shipping charges add up for me. I guess I am just a cheap son of a gun. This is not to attack anyone, esp you Mike, Scorpio, please post specials. It's fun to look and do the math if nothing else. Everyone has a viewpoint and a favored place.

No popcorn but I did receive a nice card from them last year and enclosed was a 1/2 oz silver Indian round.

Nice post, I'd rather have Buffalos as well since some people seem to really like them. Is that a normal price at provident or was this a sale on the Buffaloes?
