There is a thread on another forum by a member IN Iran showing many pictures of lines outside banks of people waiting to buy gold as a hedge. He reports his cab driver just raised rates from 3000 rial to 3500 rial on the same route. The guy is posting some great stuff. This link shows one picture but the translation of article is poor. Just talked with a Persian ex gf who still has relatives in Iran. She said this story is absolutely true. Not only are people with money in the bank converting to gold, but people are buying physical US dollars on the street (illegally). I just can't believe this story isn't all over the place. To the OP do you have a link to the guy in Iran???

That's another thing. Her family is terrified of getting blown of the face of the earth. That thought has been on the back burner of the peoples minds for a long time but now people talk like war (or more likely just getting nuked) is an inevitability.
