The headline of this thread and the headline in the "godfather politics" article are not supported by the text of the article.

That is not logical. Also, it creates the danger that the reader might assume the writer was intentionally misleading, hence losing the value of what might otherwise be a useful message.

The headline should accurately summarize the content of the article.

Exaggerated hyperbole not supported even by the facts presented can really only be expected to influence the thoughts and beliefs of the ignorant or those too lazy to learn the truth.

No matter the good or evil of the cause, pandering to the ignorant and lazy is not logical.

Only a public educated and informed to the maximum extent possible can hope to govern itself justly.

Informing and educating has much more long-term benefit than inflaming in the short term.

Live long and prosper.

The link is from 2009? The only benefit of posting this article is that it puts things into perspective....AKA Fast and Furious.

Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border.

Holder described his discussions with his Mexican counterpart about the recent spike in violence.

"I met yesterday with Attorney General Medina Mora of Mexico, and we discussed the unprecedented levels of violence his country is facing because of their enforcement efforts," he said.

I wonder if in 2009 the AG informed his Mexican counterpart of the DOJs brilliant new operation that would be run out of Phoenix? Hahaha........

Obama to Seek New Assault Weapons Ban

By JASON RYAN (@JasonRyanABC)
WASHINGTON, Feb. 25, 2009

The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today.

"As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons," Holder told reporters.

...

"Some recent Mexican army and police confrontations with drug cartels have resembled small-unit combat, with cartels employing automatic weapons and grenades,"

...

It does tend to put things in perspective, and makes Fast and Furious that much more egregious in terms of treasonous, criminal intent.

Full auto and grenades were not covered by the 1994 AWB anyway, but apparently it makes for effective fear mongering to mention the military hardware that "somehow" got into the hands of the cartels.

When will AG Holder be indicted for murder?

Eric Holder wouldn't know the truth if it shot him in the butt from the other side of the Mexican border.
