I have reached a personal conclusion that all the "Beans n' Bullets" in the world are not gonna' cut it when the goobermint Jackboots come at ya' with Tanks and Smart Bombs. I recently am of the mindset that I don't want to have any part of a shtf/ teotwawki situation. Are there any of you fellow Gimmer's that feel the same way? Feel free to comment, as I would like to hear some other opinions on the subject...

I have a Book that says the final outcome. Just what is my role, leaning toward the pacifist side. Remember Joseph's storage of grain in Egypt? Beans are ok, bullets are fun to shoot and getting more expensive. Why not have beans and bullets?

Dude, who are you? Tanks and Smart Bombs? Unless your a VERY high profile person with a LOT of influence, I think your biggest problem would be looters, wanderers and maybe the local law enforcement. Guess it all depends on where you live too. Around here, beans and bullets will do just fine.

Iraq isn't any bigger than Texas and we can't keep that under control. Even if the government went full blown martial law there isn't enough man power or equipment to cover the entire US. There is likely to be entire states or regions totally outside of its control, and then most states within its control would have huge areas they don't patrol.

If and when TSHTF to that extent, I seriously doubt the US military will be part of attacking their own, they will most likely leave to be with their families, not to mentions tens of millions of highly armed citizens would easily overpower the US army or what's left of it. Dont forget what we did in the american revolution against the mighty british. Push come to shove the GOOD people is the us will band together. JMHO

You can just lay down and die like some soldiers and marines did in Korea when they couldn't take the combat and the freezing temperatures any more. It was called give-up-itis. Hang in there, man; your'e still on easy street!

when the NAZIES came after the people in Europe it was easy because the folks had no weapons and as anyone who had been in Europe in the 40s,50s know that you were either in town or out of town, there were mo houses in the country to speak of, even the farmers lived in town and brought their cows in town at night, everything was done that way for centuries for sercurity, they were trapped by their own leaders.

In America all LEO will probably be tied up by the masses in the cities and large towns, plus most people are armed even in the cities, Just NYC alone with over ten million people will be a force when they get hungry and cold.there are probably only a couple million LEO in the whole country, counting, the locals, county, state, the martials, ICE,border patroll,FBI ect. If I was a cop during a real collapse in a city where the people were out of controll, I'd probably shed my uniform and become a plain closeman real fast.I live in the country off the main rd and don't expect to see anyone. I'm putting my money in rice and beans, bullets would break my teeth.

dont worry about tanks and smart bombs i realy dont think they will be around very long into a teotwawki situation as

they just require to much infrastructure and maintainance not to mention huge amounts of money to keep functional.

6 to 12 months after teotwawki most of this high tech weaponry will be nothing but scrap metal because it will have lost
its support base the good old US of A taxpayer.

Not wanting to be a part of SHTF/TEOTWAWKI isn't going to keep SHTF/TEOTWAWKI from happening and possibly pulling you into its vortex. The better-prepared you are to face what's likely coming down the road, the better. I had begun stockpiling a deep pantry and buying and using guns before I was ever familiar with the term "prepper." Just think of preppers as the ants in the famous story of the ants and the grasshopper:

Why would they need all the sophisticated weaponry? Just inoculate the 1% and then release a pandemic.

QWAK,Nickelless,For eons knolage and wisdom was tought and passed on with out FORMAL SCHOOLS and EDUCATION as we have it today.

Stories were told by parents and people of the tribe that had survived and the wisdom they shared by the camp fire was imprinted in the young minds at the best time so they could be absorbed just befor they went in to sleep cicle.

It is not EDUCATION that the schools provide but rather INDOCRTONATION and TRAINING to be obedient and NOT think --> just be a TOOL for the system to use! :realmad:

Personaly I concider my self LUCKEY that I never could be a COG in a wheel of there INFERNAL MACHEAN! :23_28_100s::thumbs_up:

"I recently am of the mindset that I don't want to have any part of a shtf/ teotwawki situation."

Nobody, with the exception of deluded Chairborne Rangers and sociopaths, wants to be part of it. But "Beans and bullets" isn't just beans and bullets; it's shorthand for being prepared for any situation that might arise. My "beans" have helped see me through over two years without a job.

Besides, what has been seen cannot be unseen. If you've been prepping, and you understand the dangers that we could soon be facing, how do you turn your back on it? The only way I know is hedonism--partying "like it's 1999". You can abandon your role in the future, and live it up right now, but that also comes at a heavy price.

I don't think you've "come to a conclusion". I think you're tired of carrying the weight of what you know. It's happened to all of us. While preparing is a lifestyle, it doesn't mean you can't relax or enjoy yourself. Take those bullets to the range and toss some lead at moldy fruit or an expired can of veggies. Go hunting or fishing. Go visit relatives (if that isn't too stressful ); go visit a place you've always wanted to see, even if it means cashing in a little gold or silver to cover it. Your mental health is part of being ready. Skip the beans for a week and go out for a really good steak, a bottle of wine, and the feminine company of your choice. If nothing else, take a vacation from GIM--this place can be a serious downer.

Just remember, if you are a rational, thinking man, you can't just give it up. Survival is built into every human being, both personally and as a species. The only thing that can override it is to continuously stimulate the pleasure centers of the brain, and that has a price no rational being wants to pay.

Good luck--see you in a few weeks. :bear_thumb:

There is a great saying by Ayn Rand....."You can ignore reality but you can not ignore the consequences of ignoring reality." For every prepared person in Katrina who was confronted by gov in a negative way, there were hundreds who managed to stay off the radar. Will gov over step its authority in future incidents? As sure as human nature, yes. Will the majority be affected? With history as a guide, not likely. I would rather go down trying than crying. Bx3
