He's trying to save face, he was going to lose his home state of PA.

Not that Romney is any better, but Sick Rick is a delusional Big Spending Welfare State pimp. He only carries the label "Conservative" because his is anti-abortion. That's all the LameStreamMedia sees.

So this leaves Romney, Gingrich and Paul. It is speculated that Gingrich will throw in the towel very soon so if he does it will lave Paul and Romney. Hopefully Ron Paul doesnt give in to Romney and takes it all the way to the convention. Things are gonna be very interesting

Gnewt is broke. He's a goner.

Ron Paul doesn't need much money when he can hold rallies that draw 5,000 - 10,000 people.

What happens to Santorum's delegates? Are they free to vote their conscience?

Anybody with a brain stopped paying attention when the supposed right wouldn't give Paul the time of day.

The mormon was chosen to lose to the muslum long ago, but it will be 48/52 just to make it look good.

I believe they are now unbound delegates and can vote for whoever they please, no? Can anyone here confirm that?

And asking for money from his supporters to pay off his campaign debt.

Well, I found this on the DailyPaul site. Someone asked if Santorum's delegates were now unbound and someone else replied and said yes. Then this post:

Not Quite

They only become unbound when he drops OUT of the race. For now, he has SUSPENDED his race. But this happens frequently when candidates eventually drop out because this allows them to continue receiving donations that can then be used to pay off his debts.

However, by the time the convention rolls around, they will become unbound as he will switch to dropping out at that point.

Then the question may be, who will he endorse? Newt, or the guy who will get the nomination? It goes without saying, he wouldn't endorse Paul. The guy is slippery, I imagine he'll endorse Romney.

Yes, I imagine he will end up endorsing Romney. It would be nice if he didn't but he's, how did he phrase it, oh yes, he's a "team player." Maybe he didn't come right out and give his endorsement to Romney today just to make them sweat a little as payback for political tricks at the primaries.

If only Santorum was on "Team America" then he'd forsake the dark side and endorse Ron Paul.

This WOULD be great news to Dr. Paul supporters if he wasn't completely ignored by the lamestream media, as it potentially makes it a 2 horse race with SOME prerequisite, semi-mandatory coverage of Dr. Paul as the last man standing. Alas, all hail Mittens as the 2-time, re-tread loser. Hopefully Dr. Paul can take advantage of this and make some noise, even if it is in vain.

Maybe nitpicking here, but did anyone else catch the Sanitarium concession speech sponsored by Dodge Ram? "Chuck with a truck drove us around in his Dodge Ram supporting our campaign" (paraphrasing to some degree on my part). After 4 more years of Obammer, then the pendulum swings back to the Republocrats....there won't be anything left but the crying come ~2020. Be careful out there and protect yourselves folks.

Not only is Santorum a hack, he's a coward as well. He couldn't hang on until the Pennsylvania primary. I was looking forward to see him go down in flames. I live in PA, Santorum cheated the people out of PA out of a good laugh. Another spineless republican.

I can't wait to change my party affiliation to libertarian after the PA primary. The ultimate FU to the GOP.

This may seem a daft question, but I am a foreigner.

Didn't Santorum drop out mainly because he was skint and couldn't afford the millions to carry on?

In my opinion, this is just confirmation that Mitt Romney is going to get the Republican nomination for POTUS. Even if Santorum decided to stay in the race, it still would not change the forgone conclusion that Romney is going to get Republican nomination. With that said, Mitt Romney will end up losing to Obama in November.

Bottom line is nobody who works for a living likes any of the pieces of dung the republicans insisted on running.

This is nationwide Chicago politics.

Make the voters so disgusted with the choices nobody bothers to take part in it.
