Well, I was listening to talk radio this afternoon. The program is a conservative pro-Repub stance and the host was again speaking out against the 'Buffett Rule' on why tax the rich in a higher bracket ? Then yada, yada, more slants pointing out what about those earning $900k ? .....and so on. Then back to the why should we keep promoting student loan rates to be 'below' what the gov't pays just so some guy can get a Harvard education at a lower rate ?!?! .....blah-blah again :ahhhhh:.........THEN IT HIT ME !!!
TAX the RICH and I mean ramp that baby up percentage wise ever higher so that those making millions pay the most !
Why ?!? .........it's not fair, right ? ........and it'll just hurt the little guy with trickle down unfairness, right ?!?
NOPE !
I'm seeing it this way >>> TAX the crap out of the rich so they have more 'skin' in the game. Afterall it's TAXPAYER's money that finances all the gov't programs and wreckless spending right ? Well, let the RICH fight government to make it smaller. If they don't like paying, then they can darn well figure out a way to get their politico buddies to reduce gov't spending. The little guy needs a break.......and while we're at it, I believe all those making less than $100k should pay next to nothing........perhaps 2% or some small number like that.
Ideas ? .........anyone else like this ?

As a member of the un-rich sounds like a great idea to me, in fact just confiscate their money, all of it. :sarc:
Isn't that what they did during the great depression? I think the top income tax rate was 95%.

Absolutely correct!
Someone needs to learn more about where taxes really go...

Why would anyone vote to increase taxes on anyone when it is painfully obvious the federal government is a out of control monster that can't balance their budget regardless of the money coming in.
I know its a scheme to get the pressure off Obama and get poeple focused on the rich. However, even if Obama got his way it wouldn't even scratch the surface of our debt issues. All increasing taxes would do is prolong this crappy economy. Spending and our monetary policies are the issue.

With our insane debt problem, the only real solution is a compromise of both cutting the debt and raising taxes on the rich. The government has ran things so badly we really have to do both to fix things. There is ways that make everyone happy to. Such as closing the loopholes for rich, which doesn't raise taxes on people playing fairly but will increase income for the government since there are a lot of people using those loopholes. And then cutting spending in the military and programs that are shown to have absolutely no effect on stuff and are just wasteful, which isn't going to effect welfare and safety programs to support the poor.
If you do stuff like that, then everyone is happy. Both democrats and republicans get what they want.

I say raise taxes on anyone with a government job. Then fire them.

Flat tax would solve almost all problems, it has in every country where it has been implemented. No deductions, fair to all.
It would abolish 99% the IRS, no need for an army of .gov assholes when the tax code is 5 lines on one postcard.
47% pay zero taxes right now and I guarantee not one of them are hiring.
Welfare maggots get an earned income tax credit, yep folks who contribute nothing get a tax refund while your dumb ass has to pay more in.
Concentrate on the problem, we have a ridiculous tax code that rewards sloth and kills ambition.
Watch the rabbit not the hat folks.

When you tax the people who are responsible for making everything, they will just raise prices to pass that tax back onto you while they slowly sink their own ship or find a way to make it sail to better seas.
A tax on one is a tax on all.
Taxes (in USA) were never even really meant to pay for anything. They were put in place to require everyone to chase the dollars they will need to pay them. Taxes are what gives the dollar its power to make you go to work every day.

maybe 47% don't pay federal but everyone is paying some state taxes. I agree things need to change, not sure what tax plan would be best, but it certainly needs to be simplified. Unfortunately nothing is gonna change unless they figure out a way to take more money from us.:vollkommenauf:

It's sad for me when I see people fall for the class warfare tactics of the left. I still hold out hope that some common sense remains in a lot of us.
They tax at the employee level. <br>They tax when you buy stuff.<br>They tax when you own real estate and you pay that even if you rent, indirectly.<br>They add extra taxes for beer, cigs, car rental, phone, and whatnot.<br>They tax for SS and Medical that was supposed to be in a lock box, or at least so I thought when I started paying in 1977.<br>They tax at the employer level, which is huge.<br>Some industries get enormous write-offs, which I consider wrong.<br><br>You make money on your savings and sometimes take risks of losing all your savings and they tax on any earnings there.<br><br>These tax dollars don't even come close to what we are spending.<br><br>Why do you think companies and people are setting up in foreign countries? Saving money from the tax man.<br><br>You hit 28% tax when you make 85K after deductions, 35% after 388K. <br>If you bought 30K of silver a few years back and sell for 130K today, you owe 28K in taxes.<br><br>I think all I have said is true and I think the real problem is government spending.<br><br>We'll see just how long the world economy can keep propping up our debt. I hope it lasts until we come to our senses or at least until I have lived my life.<br><br>

are you talking about taxing wealth or income?,,,,,the wealthy can remain rich and have no income to tax,,,,,,any tax on income or wealth is slavery.

This sounds suspiciously similar to the Constitution. Why do we need a pass law that's already in place?
"Equal and apportioned"?
