I am getting ready to go through about $50 worth of pocket change that has been accumulating for the past few months. I was wondering, are there any circulated pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters to look for (yes, I know about the pre '82 pennies and of course pre '65 silver dimes and quarters). For example, I know I've heard somewhere about the 2009 Nickel. Why?

Invest in or borrow a Whitman "Red Book". STUDY the book. It contains a wealth of information. :cool05:
Pay no attention to the prices, those are high outdated retail. Look at mintage figures. ;)

Thanks. Never thought to look at coinflation.com. I do have a redbook and looked at it but, yeah, you can't look at the prices. Overall, not much circulated coinage that is worth more than face value.

What you're hoping to find is double die coins in good shape, the 1983 DblDie rev, and so on. A good loupe will help.

realcent.org will help you with any pennies you find ahem, I mean cents.
I am pretty sure there is a valuable thread on the main copper bullion page on that forum that will tell you what to look for in cents alone while searching.
1950 nickle
1955 ddo cent
1972 ddo cent
Wide A M cents
the list goes on and on. But give http://www.realcent.org/ a try, bunch of really good people over there and you will probably find some familiar usernames.
