I was hoping it would get down below $1500/oz. and thought with the Eurozone in crisis, it probably would. But now I just don't know.
The guy at CNI said they "expect price to move up" and ONLY up from here on out.
Does that sound right to you? I'm confused...

What is "The guy at CNI" selling? Could his way of making a living influence the advice he gives? Just askin'.

I was thinking that, too, but then again some family members accuse me of being "too cynical," so... :bear_rolleyes:

This is only a bias observation but metals have been relatively stagnant for some time. I know the world doesn't 100% depend on the US of A but I am wondering if things aren't waiting for the presidential elections to see which direction to go.

An excellent point.
I was focusing on the Spanish bailout but your post reminds me to widen the proverbial lens...

I am thinking that metals will be manipulated down further so that the banks and gov's will create a buying opportunity for themselves right before the SHTF!

These days I think of the expression, "I you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes." Seems today with Gold it's the same. If you don't like the price wait 5 minutes; who knows where it will end up by the end of he week.
I think we will be heading north slowly but surely with some shaky plateaus along the way.

Cynicism is a very valuable survival tool. Before sheep are slaughtered, they are fed. The "sheep" we refer too deal in/eat paper. They will rush to paper if they fear not eating. That aint good for gold, short term. EOM.

Usually gold bottoms seasonally around June-July. If we have not seen the bottom yet, I don't think it will be very long or very deep, considering what's going on economics-wise in the world.
I also think that if gold is ever officially reinstated as a reserve asset, it will be called upon to carry the weight of decades of monetary shenanigans, and at a much higher price than today.

I was studying the charts at INO.com, and observed this, also. I was originally figuring that it would trend up in July, but now wonder if I miscalculated...

I think that an "event" such as (insert your current favorite here) could cause a reflexive knee-jerk "twitch" down from here, but once we get past July it should resume the (relatively steady) upward grinding/shredding of paper obligations.

Every time I think it's going to rise, it stumbles or falls. Every time I think it's going to fall, it claws its way in a straight line, or climbs.
I just can't say. :hmmmm2:

I don't think so. That would indeed call for if not require an immediate firing of the gold rockets main engines in a final departure from Earth orbit:grin10:, not the mere occasional "attitude thruster adjustments" we are currently witnessing, imho.

This just in. EWI says:
"Gold finally appears at a key, do-or-die juncture. This is the most important juncture we have seen in quite some time. [One group of gold traders has] their chance here and let's see what they can do with it...I am going to let the price action from here determine the likely outcome."

The $70+ jump last week in less than 24 hours should be indicative of the buying forces behind a gold rally. It's out there, waiting concurrently with the forces who want an orderly rise.
