I was just curious. While prospecting some halves, I started looking for the obvious 74 DDO, but decided to go ahead and look for the '82, '83, '90 "no FG" halves as well. I found one in about $60 worth of halves. Does anyone else look for these? Are they so common that circulated coins really garner no attention? Are they worth the $3-$5 that they are supposed to be worth?

Great snag of the day... I found a 1972 DDO in my rolls of bulk copper cents yesterday. You never know what you are going to find in circulation. It is not in great condition but it is respectable for what it is...

My neatest error coin is a 1981 Jefferson nickel that was stamped on a penny planchet. Buddy of mine found 5 of these at once when he worked it the vault dept of a bank years ago. I post a picture this weekend.

Since I started actively prospecting in June, I have been separating my halves by the date so that I could search to try & find some of the DDO & DDRs. My main problem is that I've amassed so many of each year, so I have recently been forced to go through all of my 72D, 74D, & 77Ds. So far, I have found (4) 74D DDOs & (1) 77D DDO. I have also found a fair number of 71-74DDRs, but I don't know if it is worth it or not. I still have so many coins to go through as it takes much more time than prospecting, and it ties up some of my capital. I may ditch the effort soon, but for now I'm still searching for some of the varieties.

Has anyone else found some of the varieties/errors and had any success selling them?

I look at everything I get. I have over 100 odd coin errors I have found in the last 15 years of searching. I even check FRNs for errors and have a few of them too.
