Please help me ID this coin.

From what I just read the smaller/fractional Krugerrands weren't minted until 1980. The weight also doesn't match-up with the fracs.

I can't find a picture or any info online about this coin. Please help me out with any information you have about this coin.

I believe I bought this from A***X a couple years ago. Whatcha think?

Yup, SA version of the sovereign. Also comes in a 1 rand version. APMEX usually has these for sale if you want to get an idea of the premium.

I don't know much about them, but I think there is also a 1 rand that is just a bit heavier than a 1/10? I'm probably wrong on that.

Oh, ok. Thanks guys- your input is much appreciated!

Do to my lack of organization, I have had to look up a couple of my coins without a foggy idea of what they were! Makes for a fun suprise down the road anyway. :p

I don't know much about them, but I think there is also a 1 rand that is just a bit heavier than a 1/10? I'm probably wrong on that.

1 Rand is .1177ozt. I don't believe you don't have any! As big into Krugers as you are... I hang my head in shame for you. :(

I saw a South African gold coin in a movie with Mel Gibson back when we all had mullets, that is the extent of my experience with them.:bear_whistle:

I'm sorry I must have been typing in another thread to a member named "Fe's" and accidentally posted it in this thread.:eek:

My wedding pictures are the only proof I ever had a mullet and I swear up and down she made me do it. :biggrin:
