Ok guys/gals, got enough people on both sides of the aisle.
I changed the reply sequence to advanced only a few days back,
Now we have some who are having trouble posting, etc.
Before, things worked relatively smooth, where it was operator error only.
Anyway, 2 choices

Yes the old way. I don't use smileys (so 90's) so the quick reply is better for me. If I plan on ever getting long winded, I will use wordpad.

There are times when a quick draw is needed. :bear_thumb:

I voted for no quick reply, but the truth is that having a quick reply feature is good for posting short and fast ideas. My only gripe is the "Reply to Thread" doomsday button that lurks above the quick reply. Pressing that button immediately makes a carefully thought out reply disappear forever. If there was only a way to get rid of the "Reply to Thread" button, then having the quick replay ability would be great.

I am starting to get a picture that some of the new features in this version are better than the old,
hmmmmm, I guess it is mostly change that is hard to take for all the flack concerning some things being different from the old version.........
We still have some things to fix and resolve, but over time it will only get better,
If you also note, registration isn't closed and hasn't been. That way people don't have to try to guess a period to come aboard,
All in all, the changeover is going pretty well imo.

OK guys try this,
It is a quasi quick reply,
A reply to thread is at the bottom, without the automatic quick reply, so it requires a click to reply,
and yet, the whole page does not load unless you go advanced reply, only a small reply box first??????
Please give that a drive around the block and see if you like that better?????
Does that do what we need????

Yes, and it explained why reply opened quick reply and quick reply vanished.
Now, where 'thanks' was I now have a weird box that won't thank. Can that go back to 'thanks'?
oh! It is back to thanks!
Thanks! LOL

Is there a setting that you can turn on in your Admin CP for the user to be able to select quick reply as the default?
If not what you have now works for me.

Sometimes when I click the "Reply To Thread" button I get "Quick Reply", "Show your signature", and the three buttons all inside the text box. It covers what I type so I can't see it to edit. I have to click "Go Advanced" to get a clean screen.

I've used the "Quick Reply" a few times, thinking that it was supposed to insert my reply after the post I was commenting on. Was I wrong to assume that it was supposed to work this way? If it is it didn't for me, because my post would always be put at the end of a thread. Until my question is verified I can't vote yet.
By the way, I like the "Top" button feature. I think this should be a required button on all sites.

No quick reply doesn't insert your reply in the middle of the thread. It adds it to the end.

Often wondered why it took VBull so long to add that feature.

Just so we are clear here on people still voting,
I have changed it to a modified version between those 2,
Where you click on reply and get quick reply, and if you click on advanced it takes you to another php page with smiles etc.
