I don't prospect. I was just trying to deposit some rolled change into my account today. Well, I was informed that I would be charged a flat fee of $2 if I deposit more than 20 rolls. WTF? I had about 45 rolls. So, I gave them 20 rolls and left. I guess I'll return and give them 20 more rolls next week.

$2 is a minimal amount, but it's the principal. I could understand charging if the change was not rolled.

I would take that as my cue to find a new credit union, and when you close your account, let the manager know why you're doing it.

i would just tell them, "screw you, you're not the only bank around. and if you charge me that fee , you can take it out of the check you hand me when i close all of my accounts with you."

YOU are the customer, YOU are always right in that regard. i wish more people would remember that!

The thing about this bank is it's not my bank. I bank with another credit union, but this one's location is more convenient. Since these credit unions are in cahoots with each other, I can use their services like my own bank. I'm not sure if my credit union charges that fee or not. So, it's a small price to pay for the convenience I guess. Now, if my bank charges that fee, that changes the situation.

Find a bank that has a self serve coin sorter that's free for members to use and open up a new account with them for $50. Then use that bank as your dump bank and laugh at the clerks when they have to change the bag on the machine.

That is hilarious. I need to find a bank with that machine. I have been opening up my rolls, and then sticking the coins back in the same roll.

My bank has a machine that waits until $1000 Face value for halves! Three times I have seen them take the back out only to have it stretch and twice it tore. Silly

Ha, ha. I do the same thing... Take all of my sorted coins to one bank that has a sorter. They ALWAYS have to change the bag(s). It is hilarious.

I had 3 accounts at a large regional bank. They froze 2 of the accounts for inactivity.

They then asked my wife to bring a photo ID into the bank to unfreeze the accounts. Of course they barely knew us since we only banked there for 30+ years.

My other bank, a small S&L that only operates in our county was very pleased when I brought them a deposit for $50k which I pulled from the 1st bank.

Why should I pay for lousy service I can get that anywhere.
