In economics, rent-seeking is an attempt to derive economic benefit by manipulating the social or political environment in which economic activities occur, rather than by adding value.
No monopoly in the history of mankind has reformed itself from within. It has always taken an external threat – a competitor – to drive internal change.

Where did you take that picture with the great blue heron Tom? It's possibly even nicer than the squirrel and cats pic. I think I saw some interesting bleachers too!
Trying to figure out how to post pics.
"The things that matter in this country have been reduced in choice. There are two political parties, there are a handful of insurance companies, but if you want a bagel there are 23 flavors. You have the illusion of choice." - George Carlin
The blue heron shot was taken with my back to the runway at NAS Whiting Field, near Milton, Fl, at 05:30 last Aug.
The bleachers? I don't remember when that was but it was a while ago; it was as everyone was leaving after a drag race somewhere in the metro Atlanta area. I didn't know them but they were passed out.

This thing was ten feet up a black locust tree in my yard one day.
Ineptocracy (in-ept-o-cra-cy)—a system of government where the least capable to lead are elected by the least capable of producing, and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed are rewarded with goods and services paid for by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

I think the deer in Irons yard are about as afraid of him as the sheep im my yard are afraid of me. This was taken about 15 minutes ago while i sat on the front doorstep drinking a coffee. They were in the bushes, in the corral, digging up my grass, and creating a traffic jam in my front gate. Ahhhh, its a rough life out here.

You know why country boys like sheep better than cows for "recreation"?

In the if'n you don't know how to do it yourself, have someone else do it for you,
check your cabin air filter on your vehicle!
Funny you mention that Scorp, whenever a new vehicle comes here to live one of the first things I do is cut a piece of old steel screen and put it in the air intake if it doesn't already have one.
I flipped on the defroster in one of my old S-10's one time and wool confetti blew out of all the vents and a mouse ran out a heater vent hole to run all over heck until I got slowed down and opened the passenger door. Lil' Bastid about wrecked me.

I have a bunch of these to post but they all have to be re sized and I'm lazy.
We had a fall event that rarely happens up here, the leaf colors were peaking and the weather was perfect. Also there had not been any wind or heavy rain yet so the leaves were still all on the trees.
It was Oct 8-9 and it was 82 degrees, sunny and beautiful so we spent the entire weekend on our motorcycles and my wife unit went for a plane ride and took pics from there.
Here are a few and yes thats my camp in the last one.

No such scenery as that around here this time of year though.
Great pictures from up there in the "Thumb". I'll have to put it on my list of things to do.
