Default Windows & Quickbooks on Mac....

    Hi,

I need to run quickbooks on my Mac and I've got Parallels to run window but I'm not sure which version is best?

I have only one other program I'd like to run in Windows and it prefers XP or so I'm told by the manufacturer.

Any reason not to run Quickbooks on XP Pro?

    Thanks in advance.

    ;-)

I run Quick Books on XP Pro and it works fine. The bookeeper was installing a satellite QB on a second computer for me last week and she said I might have problems because the 2nd computer was running Windows 7 (or whatever the newest windows is called). Apparently QB and the newest windows version have some compatibility issues to work out.

Is the question whether you should run the OSX version of Quickbooks or the PC version? I'd think the OSX version would be much easier than having to use Parallels (unless you know it has issues).

    Thanks for all the input.

I'm not going to run the OSX version because it's not as capable and apparently (according to the accountant) only partially compatible with the windows version. I read lots of reviews online and you have to look pretty far and wide to find someone happy with the OSX version, particularly if they've used the Windows version in the past.

I'm going to buy a copy of XP Pro.

    Thanks again for the help.

I've been running Quickbooks Pro for Windows on my Mac using Parallels for several years. It all just works fine. I'm using QB 2011 with Win 7.
