I believe I have read that Apmex has a minimum of $10,000 to sell to them, except when they had that special offer back near $50 POS.

What are the minimums at the other dealers that you have sold to and would recommend?

I don't know I have never sold to online dealers, my opinion would be to

find a local dealer on craigs or google and drive there after calling them.

I would pick up the telephone and ask APMEX if that is true, if I were you. It's a toll-free call.

    From the APMEX website:
"Buy prices are indications only and for transactions of $10,000 or more. Buy prices will be less for smaller trades."

So there you go, there is not a $10,000 minimum you have to sell. You would just have to tell them what you are interested in selling and see what price they quote you.
    Hope that helps.

1zee 2zee deals are costly to a dealer for a variety of reasons. Consider this, "spot" represents the cash price of a 100 ounce gold contract. Dealers trade on the wholesale level in multiples of that. The consumer pays more for smaller quantities. The dealer can't hedge smaller buys from the consumer. Therefor, he pays a lower price. The consumer pays the dealer to accept the risk associated with small deals.

the min at apmex is 1,000. For smaller transactions, they might give you 2% behind the best buy price quoted on their website..

For the best quoted buy prices on their page, you need to either be a dealer or transacting over $10,000.

This is from their FAQ page...

Do you have a minimum transaction?

Yes. When you sell your products to us, our minimum purchase amount is $1,000 (USD).

Also, generally smaller transactions are more costly to the dealer on a per dollar value to time taken. They still have to have a worker take the time to check in the order and verify the shipment and log it in on the computers. If someone buys 10 SAEs, they still have to pull the order, and package it the same as they would if it was 10 GAEs. (ok, well the GAEs will probably be packaged more carefully)

Has anyone ever done a trade with the big PM dealers? If so, how much more in "store credit" do you think one would get vs getting a check in the mail?
