Default Proper way to open PCGS and NGS case?

How do you open the Slab and get the coin out of the case? Do you use a knife, scissors, or something else? Is there an easy way to get them out correctly or is there a trick so the coin doesn't get scratched?
I have a few coins in holders that I think are having a hard time breathing in there PCGS and NGC slabs and I'm wondered the best way to get them out into the air... Thanks

Tin snips around the edge working in until you can open it like a clam works good, I'm always careful it doesn't snap and send the coin flying.

I just tried looking for a video, but I couldn't find it. The one I'm thinking of showed a guy with what appeared to be bolt/lock cutters. He would simply cut the holder in a couple places and it would fall apart. Personally if I were to crack a coin out I would go the slow and steady route that Irons suggested. If you don't have the patience for that, try this :

This however is probably not the preferred method ....

I would think placing the slab in a bench vise, holding it by the edges, and slowly closing the vise would at least control the edge pressure (cracking it) better than hitting it with a hammer. But that's just me.

I put the coin SLAB securely in a large VICE with rubber jar opener material (rubber) for holding it and just the top is exposed where the label is...

Then I grab my trusty HACK SAW and cut the top off. Quick & DIRTY!

Then gently open the slab on a soft towel an inch or two away.

    Other things slip.
Be careful out there; IT is a jungle.

Bolt Cutters. Snip on each side of the coin. Authentic stuff should and deserves to be naked.
