Look for an Ecko, they may still be made in the USA. You can find old ones at garage sales, real ones are heavy in the hand. Good Luck!

The Swing-A-Way can opener...essentially unbreakable (if you can find one Made in the USA). Newer ones are made in China...and ain't as tough.
Check out an Ace Hardware store...old stock might still be American made.

No offense to those who like them, but I highly recommend against plastic handled can openers. We had a Zyliss, usually a brand that makes good stuff, and the handle snapped like the cheap "Made in China" sh** it was. Replaced it with another Swing-A-Away noted above.

I'd go with the trouble free swing-a-way but always have a P-38 handy

I have had good luck finding old, American made Swing A Way can openers in my local Goodwill and Salvation Army stores . Also, the can opener on any Leatherman Tool is a little slow in operation but indestructable and easily cleaned off.
