Default Going to a HEAVY METAL concert!

    http://www.songkick.com/festivals/52...ayhem-festival
I just found out that it's going to be 95 with a heat index of 105 on friday.
I'm taking my 16 year old son and his friend.
What the hell did I get myself into?
My 17 year old daughter thinks I'm insane.
Metallica won't be there but Megadeth, Godsmack and Disturbed will be and they are a metalhead's dream!
I hope I put this in the apropos metal category
Metals 24/7 is the only life.

The weather sucks everywhere right now with the heat/humidity. Your son and friend will have a good time and remember that you took them there...that's really all that matters in the long run. Megadeth was really cool when I was that age. Let the kids run amok and enjoy themselves. You can just hang out at the bar and brag that your kid is out there somewhere...hippy chicks and drunk metalhead chicks love that. Your milage may differ.

I'll tell ya- I just saw some megadeth, godsmack, and disturbed videos and they do bring out the intensity of life to the max.

Now THAT's a concert. I wouldn't walk across the street to see Disturbed or Godsmack, but those 4?!?!?! I'm sure they'll have tired old Metallica finishing it up, but SLAYER is clearly still the hardest fastest band on earth!!!

That sounds like a great concert! Megadeth, Godsmack and Disturbed. Wow, that is impressive!

As much as I love Megadeath, I just can't imagine that Dave Mustaine's voice has held up. Peace sells, So far so good so what!, and Rust in Peace were favorites oh so long ago...

I'm sure they'll have tired old Metallica finishing it up,
Metallica stopped being a metal band with the black album IMO. I remember buying that cassette the day it came out in '91(?) and being instantly disappointed. I still listen to Master of Puppets and Injustice for All though .

SLAYER was still in its infancy when that song/video was recorded. The release of "Reign In Blood" in 1989 was their finest album IMHO. 10 songs in 30 minutes, crash, bash and thrash from start to finish, in fact I'm going to fire it up now for old times sake. If I could take 20 albums to the grave with me, Reign in Blood will be one of them...along with Jimi Hendrix, Hector Berlioz, Beethoven, Frank Zappa, Dead Kennedys, and numerous other incredibly talented and abstract bands I appreciate. Have fun.

Dang you cpthnsolo, now I have to watch my Dead Kennedys documentary videos and probably fire up "Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables" for my listening pleasure. FWIW, they were in my neck of the woods a few years ago (post-Jello of course) and were pretty freaking awesome. DH Peligro is possibly the nicest man on the face of the Earth, Claus and Ray were cool as well, but a bit wierd, but I would not have expected anything else from 50-year old punk legends. Cheers.

Weatherperson just issued a heat warning- 100 degrees + dew = 106 heat index!
If the bands can survive playing their fastest music in the world, we should survive just watching.
I expect a lot of medics will be there.

    Mind boggling event!
I love metals> PM'S, copper, and of course, the heavy stuff.
Line of the night by Godsmack's homey from Boston when he grabbed a tshirt from the crowd, held it up, and says this is why Boston is no where on earth.
The T shirt said "I'm from Boston so FU" > fu was spelled out.
The roof almost came down with Megadeth, Godsmack, and then Disturbed.
It's like PM's> an esoteric gendre that < 1% have a clue about.
I have NEVER seen so much body piercings, tatoos, etc.
An event the kids and I will go to our graves remembering.
