    Default USCoins.com / Eastern Numismatics

I had never heard of this PM dealer until seeing some recent postings on the Great Snags and WTF's thread. I thought I would give them a try and here is my experience...

I placed my order on Friday 9/16 for a 1 oz ASE and a 1/10 oz AGE; both were good deals at the time of ordering. I received confirmation of the orders along with the disclaimer that these orders were "Subject to Review". I sent in inquiry on Tuesday 9/20 inquiring as to the status of my order with no response. At this point, I figured something must be up and that my order wasn't accepted for whatever reason upon their disclosed "review". As we all know, PM's then took a massive beating on Thursday and Friday. To my surprise, on Saturday the charges for the orders placed over a week prior suddenly appeared as "pending" on my CC. The update on my account still shows the order as "unshipped".

I am not happy with USCoins.com / Eastern Numismatics at this point. And it's NOT from buyer's remorse; I placed orders with APMEX on Wednesday right before the decline and, while of course I wish I would have known to wait (don't we all), I am still looking forward to my delivery from them and know that these are the risks we take and, in the end, it all adds to my stacks and I had no intention of selling anyway. What I DO have a problem with is a PM dealer that confirms a purchase, sits on it with the option to "review" the order at their sole discretion, and decides to accept the order only after a major correction that reduced the value, and subsequently prices, of their inventory. The fact that the order has yet to ship and that it took 9 DAYS to "review" and accept the order leaves me with no doubt that had spot swung the other way, I would not be receiving these items. THAT is what I have a problem with. In my experience with every other PM dealer I have used, I have actually received my order in the time frame that this company reviewed it. Of course, since they STILL haven't shipped, I'm working on the assumption that the order actually will be delivered.

Wouldn't it be great if we all could sell our PM's with the option to decide a week or two later if we want to accept or decline the offer? That has been my experience with USCoins.com / Eastern Numismatics. I'll post an update and rating after this transaction has seen its conclusion.

Hmm I just ordered their ASE for spot special at the same time.

I got my ASE yesterday $39.71 shipped and got a BU ASE 1989 ( my birth year and first ASE woot woot)

Anyway I had no problems at all. I got my ASE a week after sending them a money order.

The only regret was not waiting because now the special is $31.11 but its only a limit of 1 per household.

If it wasn't for one per house hold id be writing another money order to get another on the dip.

Even with a bit of buyers remorse its still not that bad its about the same price you'd pay for an ASE from a online dealer after paying their premium and shipping.

Now if silver drops more then were hurting anyway. You're delay is probably just a human error getting over looked. IMO i still think you got a good deal if you don't blame the dip.

Their MSRP prices though are ridiculous. Not really a site anyone uses for precious metals. Its mainly a numismatic site for collectors not so much targeted for investors with their prices.

I'm not really voting on the poll because like I say its not really a site you hear people buying PMs from. From what i hear about them is 2-3 times a year or so they will run a special and that's when the precious metals bugs use them.

All I know Is I'm happy with the deal I got and If it wasn't limit 1 per household then I would do it again. I might even find a friend to do the deal again.

Oh yeah one more thing. Since the special was for randoms years and brilliant uncirculated it gives some potential for some numismatic value. Its not like everyone is getting a 2011
mine was 1989 and that year fetches a decent premium. On Apmex a 1989 BU ASE goes for about $6 over spot. So it relives a little of the pain caused by the dip. If you get a decent date that carries some premium it'll help hurt less if silver continues to drop. Id take my 1989 ASE over a 2011 any day.

OK; got my coins today. ASE 1987 (my graduation year - Needler is making me feel old) and AGE 2007. Both coins are BU as advertised, so all-in-all, while their communication left much to be desired, I am happy with the products I received.

ET coin was a different company/site lol.

I'm about to do the Eastern Numismatics deal again. Just asked my dad and his friend to see if they know anyone I can ship it to.

Just trying to find a trust worthy friend so I can do the deal again. Doesn't seem easy to find lol.

I got both the 1/10 OZT AGE and the 1 OZT ASE. Each came well packed and in a timely manner. I looked at the normal prices, not a place I would normally buy from. But the specials are great.

Got my SAE yesterday, a 2010. Very pleased, nice secure packaging. Only odd item is that I "bought" it a week ago on Monday, the charge didn't clear the bank until this past Saturday. Took a little bit for them to confirm I hadn't purchased before.

I purchased the 1/10 oz gold eagle offer from them yesterday, hope it goes as well.

I ordered a SAE @ $29.63 and GAE @ $162.25 plus $14 shipping (two different orders), the shipping is very reasonable since there is no premium over spot.

Spot went up immediately after I placed my order!

It took 5 days for the charge to show up on my card, but was received after 7 days from order.

Be careful if buying from them. I placed an order on 9/30 and just received an email yesterday which stated they are having a problem processing my credit card number. My problem with them is that the email showed my FULL credit card number and expiration date in the body of the email. I have since contacted the CRS, Sales Mgr, and Office Mgr with my complaint. 24 hours later, I have yet to receive a response. IMHO, this shows a complete lack of concern for their customers data security. Myself, I would have rather paid a premium to company which has more concern for the security their customers information.

I ordered my coins on 9/30/11. I did not recieve and email from them. I see that my credit card was billed on 9/30/11 but as of yesterday's mail no coins yet. That is 11 days. If no coins come today I will call them and ask whats up?

*UPDATE* I recieved my coins today so all is well. There was a little bit of a mix up but it was on my end. I spoke with Morgan from Eastern Numis and he seems to be an OK and reputable guy. Coins were just fine, all in all it was a good deal.

They accept returns on their bullion coins so return it when you get it.

Also you should realize with these deals they don't necessarily ship within a few business days of receiving payment.

The last deal I did like this right after this order for a 1982 Washington proof. The delivery time is up to 4-6 weeks. As 4-6 weeks is the average time with these deals. Though with this company we've all been getting our coins within 2 weeks after payment.

    THE MAILMAN GOT MINE.

Ordered the SAE in mid/late September and after about 2+ weeks I sent them an email about the status of my order. Got a tracking number which said the USPS left a "notice" on October 1st and "delivered" on October 3rd...neither of which I received. I will be contacting USCoins tomorrow to see if they had insurance on the package, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm dissapointed in USCoins for sending a package without signature required...poor business practice IMO.

I've been fairly convinced that my mailman has been stealing mail for some time, now I'm 99% convinced... the decline of Western Civilization is right on schedule. Looks like I'm out 31 FRN's and a SAE...sucks to be me right now. Bottom line is buyer beware and be sure that all packages are fully trackable with signature required as the thiefs are everywhere. THE MAILMAN GOT MINE, and there will be repurcussions.

Ordered an SAE 4 weeks ago. Got an email the next day confirming the order. Didn't notice at the time what another poster said, it had a 'subject to review' status. Subject to review? Review of what? They are offering a coin for x amount and I have given them the order via credit card.

3 weeks go by, nothing. I email a 'contact us' address on their website asking what the deal is. I get and email with only an attachment with the same order confirmation but with a different status a couple of days later, supposedly shipped. So what? They forgot about me? They were waiting for me to gripe about it?

I have stated this before. IF you are going to offer a deal, do it with a smile and good service. Don't get po'ed at someone for taking you up on it or goof around with it because you are losing a couple of bucks or not making much. The whole idea is to get your name out there and if your name is associated with shady or weird policies and shipping practices then just forget the whole thing. I don't get it. This is marketing but its like anti-marketing. Maybe these places run on a shoe string or something. Maybe I am associating big bank sounding names to this when its a couple of guys who own a fledgling coin shop.

Edit Update: I have never been charged and still haven't received anything. After reading the posts on here about some people getting it right away and others getting brushed off I conclude that this company must be completely disorganized or pulling strings to try and make a go of it. I did order a 1/10 AGE a little before this and had no problem. But then again, spot price came down after that so maybe it depends on the market what they do.

Edit (10-29-11) Received in mail Thursday. Fair is fair, took a while getting here but.... dated 1987 and looks to still be warm from the press. Shiniest SAE I've ever gotten, impeccable. Very much impressed with the quality.

My wife participated in the ASE/AGE deals (unbeknownst to her, but that's another story) and got pretty much the same results. There was absolutely no communication outside of the initial order confirmation. It took about two weeks to receive the order and the items she received (1990 ASE and 1997 AGE) were securely packaged and in impeccable, BU condition just as advertised. I would have no reservation buying from them again.

Bought their internet special 1/10th gold eagle, VF morgan dollar and ASE. 1990 ASE was okay some light markings. 1/10th gold eagle was good. However the supposed VF Morgan had a dent in the rim. Emailed them about it and they said to send it back for replacement. Will see how it goes. Other than their internet special their prices are high compared to Provident. Probably won't buy from them again.

Well received a 1888 O Morgan for replacement today, nicer coin (no dent). No apology and no reimbursement for postage. This will be my first and last order with them.

Ordered their special American bullion coins for slightly over spot. Took two weeks. They sent good email confirmation and tracking number.
Shipping was $12 for two coins, They have sent only two spam emails so far and not obnoxious. Their mailer with the coins is typical coin shop pricing. They wouldn't stay in business long just selling their special. I am happy with their service.

Ordered the 1/10 AGE internet special about 2 weeks ago. Shortly after, got an email saying my card number was incorrect and the order could not be placed, so I re-placed the order 4 days later. Today, I get hit with both charges on my card. Called the company and was told that the mistake was on their end and I had entered the card number correctly on my first order. Was told that "in situations like this" it takes a billing cycle for the charge to be reversed. Did get an email with tracking number for the first order, but don't like the idea of it taking up to a month before I get a refund when the mistake was on their end . Will give update on my order and my refund.

update: Only one charge ending up gioing through my account, other one got cancelled promptly. Should recieve coin either today or tomrrow.
