Default Could you tell me about these dealers?

    Hey guys.
I'm new to investing in physical metals.
Are Goldline and Monex reputable dealers?

    Thank you.

You will get your items but will pay ridiculous premiums for them, then they will hammer your phone trying to sell you more for even higher.

Stay away, check the dealer rating thread on here.

I know nothing of Goldline. Purchased from Monex, got sold into a leverage account, bailed on it because of monthly fee prices I think (this was ten years ago). I say don't do the leverage account with them but for physical buy is ok.

All I can say about them is being advertised so heavily they got my dad a core position in PM's in '99/2000 and I thank them for that but these days the heavy sales pitch and high premiums is not needed or wanted. Cheaper and better service other places now. HH Mark

As has been stated. The short answer is "No", because they charge relativly "High" premiums. (premiums = Dollars above cost purchased + overhead + profit. And ONLY they know what they purchased it for and what their overhead is, etc...)

Most here have bought from other places and I can not say where, because then "I" would sound like an advertisement.

It is worth some "due diligence" on your part. Unless you don't mind giving extra money for something.

    advertisement?

here are some names of reputable companies that come up:

    Tulving

    Apmex

    Kitco

    Northwest Territorial Mint

(google will give you websites & phone numbers)

All are strictly dealers of Metals, not 'leveraged accounts' - and you can compare the premiums they charge. And they don't call you up for a half-hour to try to sell you other products (as Monex did to me when I was a 'newbie')...

    - Members, feel free to add other 'reputable dealers' to this thread for the 'newbies', so they don't get 'hoodwinked'!

Please, for the love of all that is Holy, don't suggest ANYONE buy ANYTHING from NWTM. Have you actually bought from them?

Edit To Add: My mind melted down so fast after reading NWTM, I completely missed Kitco! What's going on, you trying to play screw the newbie?!?!!???!

Calm down Beef! The man obviously knew not what he was saying. Newbs guiding newbs is a hazard of the business.

I bought 23 100 ounce PanAm silver bars from NWTM in 2006.

Yes, I had to wait 7 weeks for delivery... but their spot was significantly lower than others, and their shipping was free... on a lot of pounds of metal....

hey, beefie - you need some names to do comparisons...

If you got anything out of NWTM in seven WEEKS you're lucky. I almost ordered from them back in 05, but luckily the old board talked me out of it. I have multiple personal friends who waited MONTHS on their orders from NWTM. I don't care what kind of 'deal' you get, when you have tens of thousands of FRNs floating around with no answers, accountability, or customer service, being able to sleep at night becomes a factor.

I'm not sure who you want for 'names', I've dealt with Apmex, Tulving, and locals. If dude is in Houston I'll hook him up. I've heard good things about Provident, but I haven't used them personally. Either way, no names are better than the wrong names.
