    Default Anyone try Merit Financial?

I found only one short thread about Merit. Would like to see a poll on them. They seem to have some good prices although you have to call the order in. They are running an October "special" of free shipping for new customers and random ASE at $2.49 over spot. Thinking about taking advantage of the special.

I haven't used them. Found some bad reviews at ripoff report but overall not much out there. Sure hope some folks give it a try and let us know

    I'll be watching

Last month I spoke to "David" from Merit Financial about opening a Sterling Trust Precious Metals IRA.

    1. Merit Financial's prices over spot for bulk bullion were much higher than the other metals broker that I was considering for my metals purchases.

    2. David told me that Sterling Trust required that a metals broker be listed on a person's IRA application. (UNTRUTH)

That latter really pissed me off, because by putting them on your IRA you authorize them to have CONTROL of your metals transactions in YOUR PERSONAL IRA.

So I wasn't very impressed by them and didn't use them.

In your case (just buying a few SAEs), if their prices are good, then it's probably fine. But if they then start calling and sending you literature about a Precious Metals IRA, tell them you are not interested. The low price might be a hook to see who might be a lead for a PM IRA.
