My Thoughts on OWS and My Experience at Occupy Raleigh This Afternoon.

In 2008, the Tea Party started off as The Campaign for Liberty. The goal of the movement was to educate the public about, among several things, the dangers of the central bank and its distortion of economic decision-making. "End The Federal Reserve Bank!" was the rally cry at the Rally for the Republic in August 2008 (while GW Bush was still president).

Along the way, the movement was co-opted by rhino republicans, and the original message was lost in the crowd of polarizing issues. The progressive left media, seeing all the ultra-conservative propaganda being espoused by the "Tea Baggers", was quick to spring into action, calling the Tea Party racists, bigots, and homophobes.

In 2011, the Occupy Wall Street movement took to the streets in NYC to protest the vast income discrepancies between the haves and have-nots of the US; discrepancies created largely in part by the collusion of government, a large central bank, and distorted economic decision making... Wait! Haven't I heard this somewhere before?

But Drudgereport, Limbaugh, and Hannity are calling these folks "dirty hippies" and the THC Party. At the same time, Huffpost continues its lambasting of Teabaggers and Rhino Republicans.

My buddy Mike Thorpe told me about a philosophical concept called the Hegelian Dialectic. It's also known as controlled opposition, or better yet, "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain."

Hegel's concept is this: Create a problem. Create a counter-problem. Let them duke it out. He called it "Thesis/Antithesis/Synthesis".
It became very clear to me tonight when I mentioned the OCW to my wife. She told me about a very unflattering article she'd read about the socialist and communists in Zuccotti Park. It was from a conservative news organization.

It was then I realized we are being played against each other. Media organizations are using polarizing words like racist, bigot, communist, and hippy to create an artificial animosity towards each other when ultimately, both groups WANT THE SAME THING!

Both want accountability, responsibility, and ultimately JUSTICE for the crass actions of the Treasury Department and Federal Reserve Bank, and the fascist collusion of government, legislators, and Big Money. Someone or somebodies need to go to jail for the government ratified theft of public funds never before experienced in the history of our country.

I am no longer going to take Limbaugh's word, or Hannity's word, or Beck's word, or any other national media outlet about either the Tea Party or OWS. I want to experience it for myself.

This Saturday, there is an Occupy Raleigh rally at the Capital Building from 11-3. I hope to go down with my "Bankers Go Directly To Jail. Do Not Collect $700 Billion. END THE FEDERAL RESERVE BANK!" sign and see if I can start building bridges.

This has already happened once. At this year's Tax Day Rally, a counter-protestor approached me and said, "Your sign is the only one I see out here that is policy driven." This lead into a 30 minute discussion between he and I about the corrupt nature of our monetary system.
This is our rally point. Very well monied people with incredible influence, want to keep Tea Partiers and OWS'ers from finding this common ground, because they know that they'll be trading the Hamptons for Hard Time if that occurs.

How can we be free to be either conservatives or liberals, right or left, or whatever you wish to call it, when we live under a rapidly developing system of corporativism / fascism? The Great and Mighty Oz wants to keep us fighting among ourselves rather than looking behind the curtain. We need a Toto to come along soon before we tear ourselves apart.

After having attended the "Occupy Wall Street" Raleigh Rally today, I now believe that the OWS crowd is more in touch with the original concept of Ron Paul's Tea Party/Campaign for Liberty (c. 2007-08) than the Tea Party is.

I took my "End the Federal Reserve Banking System" sign with me... the SAME sign that I took with me to Tea Party and Tax Day Rallies for three years, and received MORE positive affirmation from the OWS crowd than I EVER received from Tea Party attendees.

One speaker gave a five minute speech about the dangers of The Fed and fractional reserve economics. We got an "End the Fed" chant going. It was like being in Minneapolis in August 2008 for the Rally for the Republic all over again!

No one was carrying hammer and sickle flags. There were few dirty hippies. I couldn't smell anyone smoking dope. Yes, socialized health care was a topic of conversation. But these OWS people were VERY cognizant of the differences between capitalism, as it should be, and the corporatist / fascist environment that exists in today's US politics and Big Business.

If OWS rallies across the US are of similar fashion to what I experienced at the capital building today, this movement has the possibility of becoming a very powerful influence in Federal policy creation.

That may be all well and good.


The key question to ask is whether they believe in individual rights. I bet 90% of them DO NOT! Democracy on steroids. Committees deciding everything for us. Permission from the state to do anything.


These things are what is important. As long as we retain individual rights the Ron Paul's etc. can still out the Federal Reserve for the acts of fraud they are allowed by govt to deploy.

this was my hope for this movement..People are there for a variety of reason. They have to be educated as to what the real problem is by people like you. One thing every protester has in common though is they know something is very wrong in this country.

I think that there was an OWS event in my local area of TN but I did not go to it at that time. I think that there might be another OWS type event later this month on Oct. 29 and I might decide to go to it but I have not made a final decision on that yet.

I wouldn't be so sure. The mainstream media still has the masses very much under mental control.

That's good to hear. But my bet is the OWS movement gets dumbed down in the future just like the tea party did. JMHO
