    Hawk,

On the other site, I traded a leveraged ratio between silver/gold. Put the trade on about 64.4/1, sat on that position for many months, and finally closed it out at 60.66/1. Had to take the money off the table after speaking with some who know a thing or two about precious metals. If we get to 55/1 or lower and gold gives me daily/weekly divergence signal, I will put on the leveraged trade in reverse.

As for now, I'm back to riding with the KING!

    Thank you Mach,

I grabbed just about all the move as I was long December contracts early this morning (right after the 8am spike down) and used the hourly STO to say "time to get long" and sold off a hour ago. Hourly silver is telling me to get short, but I won't touch it with such a strong finish (I'm going to close that 21.33 spot gap up, but nice to see people getting exicited to gap up over 2008's high).

Here's my big concern with silver and I'm on daily stand by on this now, silver may be setting itself up with negative divergence on the daily RSI & STO. The STO is very difficult to see because it's imbedded, but silver needs to get a close above my 84.3 Daily RSI (I use a 14 for those watching). 8 hour RSI is falling in strength but it's all about the daily with me now. If the daily divergence happens and the silver sell off is weak, I will be rolling over to the weekly charts where it can imbed and get real bullish. For now, have to sit back and listen for market moving news and watch price action before I will enter any position.
As far as an entry, silver went from the bottom of my 4 hour channel to almost the top in one day. My long from this morning was at the bottom of the channel (that's why I was watching the hourly STO for the indicator off my support area) and would like to get long again from the bottom of the channel. However, this all depends on the RSI indicator/divergence so I'm flat and willing to miss some money till I have clarity.

Thoughts? What are you thinking or anyone else?

Agree in general fully. But but think about what it means to embed, ofcourse the great mastero Hawk da man (with no other stuff now) has given those FATASTIC embedding orgasmic charts now.
(Well it is funny using those words in that sentence with no other stuff .. but actually that is da effect. Cause they are so sexy kind of never seen beauties shown in a few high up there double lines on top of each other sleeping above high bed of 80 )

Embed so long is the ultimate trending. When daily to yearly all embed we all jump on bed. That is da case with gold. If the sister silver goes from Looong tooth daily and goes to monthly for a few 6 months strght or a few years to become yearly we are looking at humm 60$ atleast in a smaller timeframe of 1-3 yrs..

Yesterday's episode has got my adrenaline all pumped up. Needed that 1280s episode, i think need that pullback on silver to 20.05 and gold 1280s can actually be done for sometime now..

This bulls last great spike run from ($947 to 1218) $271 . That was Aug 25 09 to Dec 03 09 . Just adding $271 to the $1218 gets us $1489. Adding $271 to $1164 July 28 10 brings us to 1435. Jim has $1444 after $1369. Is it the same this time ? Time will tell. Can it happen ? Yes it did .

My point exactly, it kinda blows the whole "4.5 month" thingy out of the water. I haven't done the research, but I doubt the average over the last ten years is the same, and averaging in a 20 year bear market doesn't make any sense to me.

Why would an average that includes a bear market be correct in a bull? I will go with seasonals and the character that this bull has shown so far over any long term number like that

The longest upleg was made in 1979 that went for 5 months 16 days. The avg. downleg is 2 months 3 days. The gold charts starts at 6:11 take look there is 2 downlegs on it that match the avg. to within 1 or 2 days. Armstrong magic number is 8.6 so a cycle would be 2.15 months down, 4.3 months up , followed by 2.15 months down . Wash and rinse start again. http://www.gannglobal.com/bonds-soyb...ric-positions/

I don't really see how this is useful... Armstrong has already blown the April call for a high/low and now we are staring down the reciprocal of that call in October. Its hard to see its a low so a high it is... Seems very early in the season for us to peak out, I can't actually think of a year since this bull started where the New Year saw us lower than October. Sure we typically correct sometime around October but to put in a major peak would be a turn up for the books. Averages are wrong almost all of the time FWIW, about all you can glean is if we are in an abnormally extended period of time, then maybe you turn up the wick on your risk control... but I'd not be sticking it anywhere near the top of the pile of tools to use.

I can tell you how it's useful--it makes us all think. It keeps us on our toes. The new norm is often the old norm; but, sheesh, how come I didn't buy in four months ago if I'm so smart?

What I really want to know is, can we collectively develop a strategy that will utilize what we know about the minds of those who manipulate the markets? I have a big truck waiting. It has been sitting in the garage since July. I want to load it up one more time.

    When?

Not when the first wave of selling comes, the second. The first one everybody "backs up the truck", but the second one is to break their spirits leaving most too scared to buy because "it could fall more" and I'll wait till it gets "up to this point.

    Hawk,

What do you think of my chart? The king is now back up into the original 2008 uptrend channel. Going long with a pullback to the lowest/original rail to grab $15-$20 per contract

    Thoughts?

Corn locked limit up today, on a MEGA bullish USDA report (along with the rest of the grains). Looking good for another limit up day Monday...

    by Karl Denninger
in Market Musings Uh, Wee Problem Here On Grains.....

God I hope you're not stuck short on these....

    Oats....

    Soybeans

    Corn

    Wheat

That's bad news - those are all lock-limit up.

For those who have never traded commodities, there is a maximum daily price move. When that limit is hit trading stops.

What this means is that it is entirely possible for exactly one trade to go off at the limit price and lock trading. You're stuck with whatever position you have at that point.

If you're short and you lock-limit up the good news is that the damage stops (for that day) there.

The bad news is that there's nothing you can do about the damage, up to and including being driven into a margin call, which can bankrupt you.

This is just pure ugly...... anyone who thinks this is "good news" in some way needs their head examined. This isn't a single crop, it's across-the-board.

"Here it comes" in the grains..... and your food prices......

(Report on the wire relating to corn production expecting a poorer harvest... but man, the reflection everywhere else? I don't think this is that simple.)
