Well he replied to my message and he thinks Im trying to extort money from him LOL.
My email to him:
Dear silverandgoldchristopher,
I won the auction at the posted price and paid immediately. I feel that as a seller you should honor the transaction but since you are requesting cancelling I will not be accepting it. Upon 7 days I will have no choice but to leave negative feedback due to unfulfilled auction.
His reply:
Dear mannyscollectibles,
it was an honest error, and you know it
ebay has to stop people like you trying to extort buyers out of there money, and demanding money to not leave negative feedback.
i sold 750,000 last year.
if people like you keep, harrasing me me out of my money i will stop selling on ebay.
This guy is delusional

I found out a few years ago that I have aunt and uncle who have been collecting coins for roughly twenty years. When I visited their home for the first time last summer we somehow started talking about coins and my aunt was thrilled to show some of her collection. Long story short I think she has *every* crappy set ever produced by the Franklin Mint, the United States Commemorative Gallery, etc. She was beaming as if she had a nest egg stashed in the closet so I didn't say a word. I did mention to her that it's important to buy 90% too, so hopefully she followed that advice.
On a related note I have a coworker who buys all the colorized and/or plated sets for the state quarters. He's been paying $20 a pop for two quarters every month for about as long as I've worked with him (5+ years). I've since talked to him about 90% and gave him a Morgan for the heck of it one day.
As long as the refund was immediate and the seller apologizes then I wouldn't be too mad either. People make mistakes although the guy was clearly out of line when he replied to rodzm. Not me, sorry. "Let He Who Is Without Sin...". I've made mistakes before and asked for forgiveness too ... He refunded promptly not in 5 days so I will not neg him. Call me a softie, but that's my take on it ....

[COLOR=#000000][FONT=arial]Dear silverandgoldchristopher,
That guy is bad news. I remember the name from last year. He was misrepresenting a gold coin and I called his hand. He came back with a smartass reply and I reported his auction to Ebay as fraudulent.
If you haven't spend all your coin, http://cgi.ebay.com/1985-Canadian-16...item43a6d3c3d5 consider this one...

Nope, IE9 ebucks only at 10% before. Now ebucks 2%+MrRebates 3% only. I have not seen any proof that combining would work

Got my first decent snag of this dip. I haven't tried the IE9 thing yet so I'm just getting the 5% rebate. Still comes out to only $38 an ounce:

The seller had a couple more listings for the same price per oz that I was going to post but some moron placed a bid on both of them. Now they'll sit out there for a few days and end up selling for a lot more than the BIN price. I love it when that happens.

Just picked up a slabbed 2007 First Spouse 1/2oz for $715 shipped after the IE9 rebate. That's approximately $43 (6%) under melt for slabbed fractional 24k gold! Too bad eBay has a cap on this promotion as you could conceivably turn a hefty profit buying below spot and selling at spot (assuming gold doesn't tank of course). If anyone reading this received the invite from eBay last week, but hasn't taken advantage of it, you're really missing out in my opinion.

not only clad dime, but also gilded for only $5.5K BIN .... He cannot see the clad layer; yeah, maybe because is gilded all over, including the edge, duh ... He is listing the weight (which is less than the clad one even) as a proof that is not clad. Hello, Ground Control to Major Tom, the silver weights more, 2.5 grams. Really rare POS I guess, look at his ID, I guess it says all![]()

I'm totally out of powder and hate to pass on this, but for those of you with cash and can use the IE9 10% rebate here's a First Spouse Jefferson for $720 shipped after the rebates.
He does not accept PayPal which, I Think/not sure, kills the 10% rebate. If I'm wrong, sorry, but please let us know if I am.

ebay might be fun this weekend. Some people are desperate to sell that all of their nasty, sleazy, dirty, useless silver.
eBay UK isn't showing any great deals as yet. Was hoping people would panic and dump their loads, so I could grab some bargains.
People still paying 50% and more premiums on ASE's here. Mad.
bemac (05-07-2011)
Holy moly, talk about a great deal!!
Bought an uncleaned 1908 no motto double eagle at an Antwerp jeweller yesterday. Lots of lustre left and it hasn't been whizzed as far as I can tell! I paid POG plus €30 (around $40) over spot. The jeweller said he removed it from a bezel, but even under a magnifier I can't see any traces anywhere. I'll post a picture if ya'll are interested.

Now that's cool. I haven't seen any that old yet anywhere I've visited. My hunt continues.
By the way, Irons, thanks for inadvertently turning me onto Sov's. I love the look and found 2 local dealers that sell them for $10 over anytime they get them. One called me today as he had a 1918 with an "I" mintmark today.
