Default Longer or bigger page size

Just logged in and the first thing that I see is that the page size has increased considerably, from 30 posts per page to almost a gazillion.

This makes it hard to find where you left off on a popular thread. Is this permanent or did I miss an announcement?

I'll apologize in advance for ruining your thread nam , but I just have to ask. Did anyone else read the title of this thread and immediately think of all the junk e-mails you receive ? LOL

Back on topic... There's a good chance Scorp or someone else was playing with the forum tools and changed some things regarding visible posts. You should post what you're seeing in Scorp's thread or send him a PM.

another member requested more threads on a page and Scorp followed thru. Unfortunately it falls in the becareful what you ask for. It has made my naviagtion slow and browzer freezes up frequently. Scorp posted an option by user on selecting number of pages to view. I agree it makes it harder to navigate. I also think what the other poster was requesting was a good request it just too much. I'm going to see if I can control the display of threads in profile.

Goto Private Messages, Select General Settings from list on left, scroll down to Number of pages to Display and select your preference, Save Changes.

All is explained by Scorpio in the thread "kinda bummed".

find it frustrating to be called racist when we are just trying to let people form their own opinions one way or another, and all because we don't x any statement or thread that someone may not agree with. There are many opinions or threads I don't agree with, yet do we really want a monolithic view, or is it preferable to have a multi-viewed forum?

we actually have very few people here with the keys to the door, and we are loathe to use it, as we prefer people to help police the site, rather than us running around with a hammer.

back in the day, members were getting banned all the time. It really is a far cry from what it used to be.

as for some of the suggestions, I will get working on them,

already changed some of the settings to allow more per page and so on,

you can also change some items in your user settings:

Edit. Sorry I was so slow!

Or just click on the little blue down arrow to the left of the thread name and it will take you right to where you were on your last visit.

Maybe set the default to 30 and let the peeps with warpspeed setups do their own thing?

Thanks for all the feedback. Being sort of a new member without the greatest understanding of computer settings I was just frustrated when I logged on and didn't know how to rectify my situation. I admit that I didn't look at your thread that was mentioned earlier. To be honest (and it's kind of my fault) the thread title didn't enitce me to look at it.

I was hoping that there was some way to return to the setting that I was comfortable with and was easiest for me. I did not know how to fix the problem so that is why I posted this thread.

The information posted by Agaugirl was most helpful and appreciated. A lot of times I'm just confused. I used to think that I was lost. Now I know better.

PS: I really did learn a lot from this thread. I didn't realize what the little blue arrow did.
