Triple pick up SG custom and a Hiwatt stack.

My Hiwatt was 1k in 1995. Today I laugh when people offer 4k for it.

I wouldn't even think of selling it. Nothing comes close to a Hiwatt.
    I'm done, It's on!

If you want the guitar, get it.
A used American strat with case can be had for 6-7 hundred or so?
A used Les Paul can be had for what, $800-$1000?
Im a bass player, and have been for 35 years.
It's a buyers market right now, I have a bass for sale that sold retail new for $1200. Its in mint condition, and I'm having difficulty getting half that for it.

Just saw you bought the silver.
I'm sure you made a good choice for you.

    Hey there Doazen !
Thanks for the update on your decision.
Are you in Guat City ?
    Nice country, Guatemala.
I have been there a few times on the way to Antigua and Panajachel etc etc.
    And of course Tikal.

P.S. Keep on playing...music is one thing NO ONE can take away from you.

Hey Hystckndle, that's awesome, yeah it's a beautiful country to visit, not the best to live in, or well maybe, depends, good enough for me right now I suppose. Well the silver's on it's way but I'm already saving for the guit. I bought when spot was at $29 (it's around there last time I checked) and unless it drops to $20 or some ridiculous number in the next month or 3, I will be getting the guitar!

    Hey there Daozen !
Thanks for the reply man !
So lookit, care if I ramble on a bit ?
    ( I am gonna anyways... )
So, from my four or so trips down there ( five if ya count the beer I had on your side of the Usimacinta ...man was that a good beer ! ) I traveled a lot by bus and by Land Rover and I stayed
in a lot of different places. A beautiful country you have there.
Nice people and still a lot of culture. Many opportunities. Industry etc etc.
The grass is always greener on the OTHER side of that fence remember.
But sometimes once you get there you remember it was ALSO pretty green where you came from.
I have found that home is what you make of it and yep, you may have that wander lust but
do not think that what you have there is a bad thing by any means. You could be a LOT of places that are far worse.
So....25 years ago, when I was your age, I wanted to be a symphony musician.
I was pretty darn good, semi pro I guess, never quite enough work to be full time.
Anyways, I figured out from some of my friends that were also in the same position that even though they had paying gigs
at 2nd level symphonys here in the states, they would always have to have a part time job at a Home Depot or a Walmart or something like that just to have a family or to put food on the table all year around. That was just the facts.
It occured to me over time that unless I was a big league player, knew the right people ( also a big part of it ) or just had an awesome day at some audition, that I was just gonna be at a certain level and always working at some other job to pay for all of the things I wanted to do.
I decided through all of this to continue music as a second line and get into something else that would support the music and still provide me with a good living. I think it was a good decision for me.
I was thinking about your posts today and I thought I would express to you how fortunate it seems to me that you are a part of family busines that is very well established and there is a lot of demand for it. Also back when I wanted to be a musician there were no where near the number of ways there are today where I could self promote myself...youtube...facebook etc etc etc. That seems to me to be something you could use to your advantage to get better known while you were still in the family business.
If there are tougher times ahead in the world then you being in a business that is stable and has people you can trust and depend on will this in itself will be worth its weight in gold in the future. Do not discount in any way the value of being a part of the family business. Once you have some money to buy a better " tool " as you put it, then by all means do so. It will give you some inspiration and you will not believe how much it will help you.
Seems to me you have a lot of ambition in life and I am looking forward to some more posts from you when your silver comes in and also especially hearing about your new guitar. Like I said, music is something that no one can take away from you. Don't go giving it up. Or what puts bread on your table either.
Note: I am certainly not telling you to do or not to do anything in life, I am just here in internet land sharing some thoughts I had today at work ( the rock factory ) about your music and your thread here. Regards ! Haystackneedle

man, it's people like this that make me love this site, what a thoughful and warm post that was! I'm glad you enjoyed this country and yeah, I use to be even worse, I use to hate it, but I guess it's that I hate the fact I depend on my family and I was projecting that on the country, haha, that however I doubt will ever change until I become independent. Well I will continue on the family business until I have a very clear signal my music is going to feed me, hopefuly it will come one day.

Just a few hours ago I was talking to a friend abut my silver investment, this is probably the smartest friend I have and still he was still giving me funny looks, as I mentioned euro and dollar collapses and stuff, maybe I am crazy afterall... hopefully some of you understand investment in metals, haha...

Anyway thanks Hystckndle, it's awesome to hear your thoughts, the internet is indeed awesome as can be! and I love this forum, have a great week and I will keep you posted on my moves!
