China is not going to start WWIII, and get annihilated, over Iran, that is pure nonsense, and simply a statement by the Chinese Propaganda ... sorry News service, to show
China's dis-pleasure about one of their major trading partners being de-stabilised and possibly overthrown.

China wouldn't have a problem with the Iranian regime being toppled, as long as they still get their oil at the same price, and Iran keeps buying stuff from them. For China it is just
business, and a presumably cheap, subsidised oil supply.

The problem for China is that a relatively conventional war that topples Iran, will probably result in a lot of destroyed Iranian military equipment as occurred in Iraq, and
someone is going to have to replace that. China would like to be the source of any replacements I'm sure.

Iran has been playing a dangerous double-game, sending in insurgents to Iraq etc. sending in arms, while developing their nuclear program as a bargaining chip, or for a first strike
against Israel. No one is stupid, and they all see what Iran is up to.

However, in saying all this, resource requirements, and China's still somewhat expansionist policies are a thorn in the USA and Western nations side. They don't really know how to
keep China under control while also keeping things civil and diplomatic, rather than warfare occurring, be it conventional or otherwise.

With the USA and Europe being China's major trading blocs, it makes no sense to enter into warfare, when China and it's leadership have benefitted so much from all the capitalist gain.

When resources become scarce, or major economies actually fail, look out.

Gonna poke my oar in the water for a moment, regarding how many surplus nations China has left globally to buy its tat (sorry, produce)?...............


Europe, UK, USA, and the stable south sea nations of Australia and New Zealand, have exploited the Keynesian model of borrowing, all are up to their eyes in debt. China needs stable economies that are also in good fiscal surplus, , , , , , , , , buyers with the real stuff. Honest money!

I believe China has had a gut full of bailing out delinquent nations, so those basket case nations can continue buying its cheaply made produce.

Somehow, I feel that China is not going to be too happy with one of its best trading partners arming up with Russian built technology, only to defend itself against an unnecessary, Israeli led NATO attack?

There are not that many economies left with surplus that can buy Chinese goods without begging for a bailout with cap in hand, The more recent one to fall was Libya.

I don't see they have much choice, they're completly surrounded. I don't know of anyone in their situation that would do nothing. The US wants to control China's energy, not just China's but the world's. And that's exactly where China will be if NATO goes after Iran, totally dependant on the West for their energy needs. They'd have done better to use thorium to fuel Bushehr but they didn't.
