From the link:
"Please allow 8-10 weeks for shipment".
From what I have read at the old GIM, it should read:
"please allow AT LEAST 8-10 weeks for shipment".
Their delivery times are notorious. However, you have the option to sell back to them at spot before taking delivery (and after BTW). Not a terrible option. Also, once you actually GET your product...I think you will find the quality/price was worth the wait. At least...I thought so...

APMEX Survey "thank you gift"
The survey e-mail:
The gift:We’re interested in your perspectives about investing in Silver – today and in the future. Please take our brief online survey so we can better understand your needs and serve you better. Please know that this survey is completely anonymous and confidential. As a thank you for your participation, you’ll receive instructions on how to claim your thank you gift at the end of the survey.
Since I won't be ordering $3,000 anytime soon, this gift was a disappointment. Perhaps someone else can make better use of it.Thank you for completing our survey! We look forward to serving your Precious Metals needs in the future.
As our thank you, please accept our offer of FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING on your next order of $3,000. To claim your free gift, please use the promotion code: SSGIFT before 5/4/2012. ...

I think I'll run a survey to see the best way to sell my used car. I'll reward all who participate with a free tank of gas IF you purchase my car...at the price I set. Of course, I won't actually tell anyone this until after the surveys are completed. Punks! (Props to Newmisty for the expletive.)
I fell for the Apmex survey trick. I am not a public relations expert but they could have asked me and I would have told them this was NOT a good idea. The only people walking away from this happy would be those currently considering ordering 3k worth metals. Probably not a huge audience. The rest were disappointed.
A free gift does not require you to purchase anything. This was a false statement.

My Grandfather always said " Ya cant do business with people who dont have any money"
But then again he never met a modern day greedy POS banker
Life is full of those, I got a call to solicit a newspaper subscription, 'buy the Saturday and Sunday issues and Monday-Friday are free'. I told them to just send me the free issues then. I'm still waiting. I went to Culvers around Christmas to get my free Butterburger deluxe basket, they told me they give those away if I buy $25 in gift cards, I told them it wasn't really free then, but I didn't get my burger basket. I filled out my Burger King Survey for a Free Whopper or Chicken Sandwich, but it was 'with purchase of fries and a drink', so my 'free' sandwich cost me almost $4. Same with any "buy one, get one free' offer, it's not really free if I have to buy one.
Gainesville currently have Maples, $1.89 over spot.

new up, .99 over for Sunshines
as for the survey,
seems to me as though the math works out to a discount of 10% premium on a 3k order minimum,
why not just say thanks for completing our survey, now receive a 10% discount on any order?
may add up to free shipping, may not, may be more,
not a fan of gimmicks,
but it is rampant across all industries now,
like rebates, man I hate rebates,
then oftentimes, you go thru the hassle and never receive the rebate, 'cause it is farmed to a 3rd party organization, etc.
or you get it and it expires before you can use it,
Uuuuuggggghhhhh!
^
or even a free sae with purchases over $3000 (but you have to pay shipping) would work out the same, but appear to be better. i must admit I was somewhat surprised by the "free gift". i guess not quite as insulting as a free paper brochure in the mail. lol
For the record, MCM gave free shipping (period) to answer a few questions last week or so.

APMEX Survey e-mail follow-up:
Dear xxx,
Last week you received an invitation to participate in a survey. The survey email suggested a free gift for your participation. Since then, we have received a number of complaints about the free shipping offer from people that completed the survey.
We apologize for any misunderstanding.
There was never any intention to deceive you with the free shipping offer. From time to time we solicit customer feedback via surveys and simply wanted your perspectives on investing in Silver. We use this information to better serve you in the future.
APMEX is committed to providing the highest level of customer service and the highest quality products. We are indeed sorry for anyone that may have been upset by the offer. We always value your feedback. It will help us continue to provide the prompt, helpful and courteous customer service you’ve rightfully come to expect from APMEX.
Since the survey was anonymous, we cannot write to individual customers that completed it. However all customers that clicked on the survey link will automatically be entered into a drawing to be held on Monday April 23rd to win a 1 oz 2012 Silver American Eagle. Three will be awarded and winners will be notified the same day.
Thank you for being an APMEX customer.

Sounds contradictory to me.
they should just be quiet at this point. A drawing to receive 1 of 3 ASEs is just digging your grave deeper IMO. lol

Glad I didn't click on the survey. I was only planning on buying $2900 in silver so no free shipping for me.
Silver is my money for today, gold is the insurance for my tomorrow, and FRN's are simply the compost I use to grow it all.

Congratulations! you won a 2012 ASE for taking our survey...now send 14.95 to cover shipping costs.

I got the apology email. Kind of chintzy yes but at least they did realize their error.
I know APMEX isn't a fave right now but this isn't too bad a deal, I think. Anyway, Gold Napoleon's at $9.99 per coin over spot.

Provident has Canadian Silver Maples for $ 1.75 over spot. I didn't see when the sale would end.
Yeh the collector versions are SP , I forgot what SP stood for. Can't believe they are still available at $260 seeing that they sell for quite a bit more.

I also bought myself the 2010 yellowstone non "P" they only minted 5,000 more bullion than collector pieces in 2010

why did this go for $650 lol???? (don't know much about these coins but this seems about triple its worth.....)

You are right, "Modern Numismatics" are BS....most of this modern crap WILL eventually end up melted; and it should be, it is purely hyped Garbage.
Check out the classics.... years ago I put together a set of Bust Dollars, minus the 1804.
At the 1964 ANA show in Cleveland (yeh, I am dating myself) ROLLS of 20 mixed BUST Dollars were available at
$1000.00, of course, a new car was $2000+...
The most impressive thing I saw at that show, a 1955 "Triple Die" penny, NOT Doubled Die, it seems to have vanished from Numismatic lore.
I don't have any nusimatics other than a couple sets of 25th anniversary cause of the smart people on these boards that said they were a no brainer.
Thinking about making my 2nd nusimatic purchase and getting 3 of 2010 P America The Beautiful Silver 5oz Yosemite SP70 ER NGC. Seems like a good price based on the ebay sell prices......also considering adding a couple dos pesos and making a purchase just under a grand (won't bump me up to the next shipping fee). They are about 10% over melt, is that a decent price for dos pesos?
Ack! Don't start stirring my ATB addiction up again! Looks like Silvertowne does not have those prices linked to the silver ups and downs, but I will watch.
