Default 25th Anny. Eagle and 2010 ATB Matching Set Trading

First off, I'm in Houston and would love to hear anyone wanting to do some PCGS 25th anniversary, PCGS 2010 ATB, raw 2010 ATB face to face. PM me or post here.
Obviously in hand, no lost parcel, no shipping costs are excellent reasons for this.

If you have the desire to do some of this either in-person or through the mail, please post here.

I will put my 25th anny trading needs up after the 1st person has put up theirs.
I will put up my ATB trading needs up after the 1st person has put up theirs
    - or if 3 people say yes, Dude, post your needs/trades.

I figure we save ebay fees to match grades.

And, OK, NGC graded trades, as well as raw can go here. Who knows, maybe some cross-swapping might occur.
I could see trading PCGS69's + cash/bullion for an NGC70 set. Diversification, as well as coin to coin comparison.
And as a side note, please indicate FS, ER, Mercanti, Flag, and whatever the hell those TPG's threw at us.
    Son's of B's.

If nobody steps up, I figure there's no interest, but I will revive this thread with my trading desires tomorrow.
I also presume that those interested are not interested in out-trading another for profit. I'm in it to match and if cash/bullion is necessary to even out the trade, so be it.
I suggest we use PM's to negotiate and if both parties want to post the trade, they should both agree.

A bump because I'd like to know if anyone has interest. I'd like to trade to finish/match graded sets.

I'd also like to log matching ATB sets too.

I got my results from NGC on Friday & notice of shipment back to me. I think I will post some possible trades for NGC after I get mine & can inspect them. Thanks for this thread.

I'll trade NGC 70 "S' coins for 70 RP's. I have four of the former, one of the latter.

Off subject just a bit, but have you pulled the ATB's yet? I opened my box of 2010/11 bullion coins to add the two I just purchased and I think the older ones are starting to turn/tone. Is this normal even when stored in the air tites and a box? I have very little silver purchased new from the Mint to compare so I'm wondering about these ASE sets as well...thanks.

they're worthless. if you don't sell them soon, you'll probably see milk spots on them, typical mint crap. i'll buy them from you at spot -1.00.

I did not check carefully over Christmas when I started organizing but I saw nothing crazy. I will look at mine in near term and start a thread and PM you. I do want to acetone bathe them. Stay in touch.

Toning is essentially luck of the draw, but it all depends on environmental factors and not where the coin was made. If you're storing coins in an airtite that's good, but they can still tone as they're not really airtite and even if they were the air inside can still cause toning. Toning issues are different from the milk spot issue that seems to plague US mint pure silver coins and Canada's silver maples. It's been said that if you acetone rinse your us mint pure silver/maples that milk spots shouldn't develop, but I haven't read a conclusive forum post/test on this. Milk spots seem to be random and sometimes tubes of ASEs will get them and other folks have hundreds or even thousands of spot free eagles. One thing that has been corroborated by some people is that if you look closely at your ase's you can see very subtle variations in the finish. Most believe those are the pre-cursors to milk spots.

Sorry for the off-topic post Dude, but someone needed to answer Choice's question .

Thanks. I haven't seen milk spots in these yet but maybe it's early still for them to show up? Not having invested in silver products except for some junk I inherited, I was surprised to see some subtle darkening on the ATB in spite of being in air tites and in a box and in a controlled A/C. Researched a bit and ordered some intercept shield products to store my slabbed ATBs and the new slabbed ASE sets plus a few other things. Not really too picky about the bullion but hope these protect the "investments."

Outside of an acetone rinse to remove physical contaminants, the absolute only thing you should do with numismatic silver is to LEAVE IT ALONE ! *ANY* type of cleaning (including the eraser and cloth method in the video above) will be visible to someone who knows what to look for. Cleaned coins sell for significantly less so I would just leave your numi coins as they are.

Heck I would leave all your 90%, and generic bullion as they are because you never know what may be collectible in 50 years. At the very least though I would never clean pre-65 90% or numi stuff, but if you want to polish the heck out of your generic rounds and bars than by all means have at it.

Not going to do anything in the video! Or acetone as I don't know how to use it properly. The junk coins are fine as they are, I'm just thinking about storing the graded slabbed coins and the silver coins from the mint (ASE sets and others) in a stable environment as I think the newer they look (as modern unc coins) the better for resell. Apparently the air tites aren't enough and you need something like an intercept shield box or vacuum sealer or some other way to keep the air out.

Look for discount sites like the above and get proper storage ITEMS for the NUMISMATIC coins. If slabbed
    get a good BOX like a NGC/PCGS

or the fantastic aluminum ones which I love for the GOOD stuff...

    https://www.google.com/search?q=good...w=1672&bih=830

T29932 ALUMINUM 20 SLAB UNIVERSAL DISPLAY/STORAGE BOX $27.50 if member of AMOS COIN WORLD org.

    http://www.amosadvantage.com/scottonline/

If you get the Coin World Mag. they give you a 10% discount. Shop around though.

As far as a book one needs common sense first. Just take care of them like they will go up 10 times
    if you DO IT!

By the way I just ordered a BUNCH of 2011 "W"s ASE from the US Mint to fill a few of my empty 2011 25th Anniversary set boxes. They have dropped the price from
$61.00 last year to around $46.00 today. I almost ordered 10 MS69 2011 W ASE from the "BAY" for $720.00 bucks but the US mint was cheaper and they'll easily grade MS69 later.

I know it's kinda terrible awful stinkin' CORNY but wait a few years and many will want them as a substitute. IMVHO and it makes a snazzy package too.

Boy the 2011 SETS really dropped off in VOLUME today and the prices are going upward now.

Economics 101 = lower supply higher demand. Hold off if you have sets to sell. You have silver clawing back (think being a MF Global client and having to get screwed five times by paying back what you cashed out a year ago!) from the dead (read $50) and lower supply on the BAY to screw you over. Be patient.

Search "CLAWBACK" - google - which should be called YOUR deep pockets and YOUR getting screwed big time!

Don't be sorry, threads go where they go.

The guys on this thread are the guys I align with the most. If I can make money with "pure old fashioned numis", I will. If I can make money with this new-fangled mint issued "collector" bullion stuff, I will. An ounce of silver bullion in one form does not necessarily sell for the same as an ounce of silver in another form at this stage and probably won't ever in my lifetime, despite what the smelter boys say.

I had a thought and found some bags on ebay that work with the foodsaver - not the regular stuff that has one side with multi-layers that you cannot readily see through. Totally clear, smaller size. I will order some and report back in a separate thread, if anyone is interested. I plan to seal one ATB in an undisturbed air-tite and another in an air-tite with a tiny pinhole. Maybe another set of 2 after an acetone bath. Has anyone found this sort of experiment on the web? I've got 4 year old one pound bags of rice with my foodsaver in the cabinet still solidily sealed.

On a side note, I've really got to get some websites built with some of the info/pics you guys are putting together. If you've got time and want to discuss, send me a PM, now that some of you bullion/semi-bullion/numi's are looking at this thread.
