Not always Scorpio. Many of these online charting setups are Java, Flash or Silverlight and not a traditional image, so you can't do what you normally do. If they don't allow a way of saving an image of what you have created you often have to resort to a screen grab to preserve your work for use on a forum.

These guys wanted dynamic charts, which is another thing again. That one definitely has to be catered for by the site hosting the charts.

It can also be useful on sites where they have disabled the right click function and you cannot save the image easily.

Both silver and gold are approaching their 50DMA lines from below, typically I would expect a sell down at this point. I don't expect a large one and I think that the lows may well have been set, especially in the stocks. The DJI is looking OK to me and very much suggests that we are back in "risk on" mode. I expect some chop while the pros get set but IMO we should be looking good into Feb.

What do you new guys think about silver? It looks to me like silver broke out of its sharp downtrend, and is in the process of a pullback. My guess is that a 50% correction of the move up from $26+ to $30+ would make approximately $28+ (green circle on the chart below) an excellent buy point. The near term profit taking target would then shift to the pitchfork middle rail at approximately $35 (red circle on the chart below). YMMV so DYODD.

Weatherman, thanks for that post. I'm long agq & very bullish on gold and silver, myself. The pullbacks are being bought with aggression and even the algo bot ticks (programmed trading) Friday showed heavy accumulation in gold. I'm giving it wiggle room as my timing isn't perfect but the stage in the Mideast is being set for horrific procedure. The whole globe is looking for safety with what little the banks have not been able to steal. imo, we'll see metals, US equities and even US bonds inflate until the end of economics as we know it. jmho & glad to see you here.

Sugarman is a poster who does his chart work on graph paper. I've never seen him post a chart other than an actual picture of his work on the graph paper. He doesn't post often. Here is his latest post full of intrigue, imo...

"Your Hi Def TV's picture is either 720p or 1080p. Both these numbers are multiples of a circle & represent the culmination of our ability to broadcast at this time. I always watch the market whenever it is at a division (45,60,90,180) or multiple (360,720,1080,1440) of a circle from past highs or lows. It doesn't matter whether it is price or time or both, as it can mark a culmination of a current move. Thus the expression, we have come "full circle". Based on the numbers mentioned above, I think the Stock market may be at a very important point in time right now.

There have been 3 extreme highs and lows in the SPX the past 4 plus years. The Oct 2007 high (1576.09), the March 2009 low (666.79), and the May 2011 high (1370.58). This past Thursday, Jan 12th was the 720th trading day from the 2009 low. This coming Wed., the 18th will be the 180th trading day from the May 2011 high. To top it off, the following Wednesday, Jan 25th will be the 1080th trading day from the Oct 2007 high. That is a half, 2 and 3 full circles within an 8 trading day period. hmmmm!

Next, August 25th was the day a very important balance point was created in the SPX market. It was the 624th trading day from the 666.79 low. The 45 degree angle advancing up from this low 1 point/TD was at 1290.79. It was also the 81st trading day from the 1370.59 high. The 45 degree angle descending from that high was at 1289.58. These two angles crossed at 1290.18 (balance point) which became a target area top (1292.66) in October when the market began it's huge rally off the Oct 4th low of 1074.77. Notice the markets proximity this past week. It closed above this "balance point" Tues, Wed, Thurs, then closed the week below it at 1289. The point is, we are right there now at such an important time frame.

The alltime high in the SPX was on Oct 11, 2007. On that day I went down to "0" and began a 45 degree angle moving up 1 point per trading day. Gann called this angle the "Death Angle". This angle has been advancing up without much fanfare for the past 4 plus years. However, it is getting closer each day to the current range. Tuesday will be the 1074th trading day from that high. On Wednesday it will reach the Oct 4th low of 1074.77. Notice Wed is also the 180th TD from the May 2nd high. Unless the market continues to rally, this angle will come into play this year.

Heliocentric Mercury went into Sagitarius Thursday evening. Astrologer Ray Merriman say's that is normally a volital time in the markets. May have started Friday.

Should be a wild week or so ahead!"

I added the text &z=.png to the end of the url to get past the GIM code. Once you do this it sees it as a valid image. The image is referenced from your source and has not been copied to GIM's server.

Here's an interesting post I'm swiping from cuemaster...

"It's interesting to see the gold chart without the daily manipulation from new york not factored in. The spike you see in the chart has been there every day for the last few weeks, a 10 plus dollar spike down delivered by some force in America trying to depress the price action. But not today."

If you use a decent browser you should just be able to right click and select "Copy image address" or "Copy image location" or if you use Internet Explorer you will need to select properties and then copy the URL. Then simply paste and add &z=.png in fact &.png or &.gif should also work! (I have not tried that yet.)

Strike that guys, something else in the later URL's you are using is messing with the process. I will see if I can find a work around.

This is the URL used with my addition in blue. It seems that it is more reliable if the image format code is put at the beginning of the query string immediately after the ?

    Notes.

    1. The "f" can be any letter or name, not crucial but is required.
    2. = is required.
    3. .png can be any valid image format, .gif, .jpg etc to suit the image used.
    4. & is required.

That one should have worked straight out. Are you using the image button that sits to the left of the video button (film strip)? Then the from URL tab? Skype me if you want and we can probably work out how to do what you want. Also with images like this the download upload idea works fine!

Hi, Zed. Sorry to be such a problem. I am not internet tech savvy so have mentioned on the clearstation board that you are trying to help with the charts. I hope one of them will come over and converse with you because I'm really not able to speak with a real geek. They kinda scare me I very much appreciate you though and hope we can work it out... ...because I like the little creatures to play with and because you all are so nice about this. G'nite.

p.s. It could be that I'm using a Mac. I luv my Mac but it sometimes gets in the way if I won't use windows. I am using Firefox but can use Safari if need be. Anyway, don't go to too much trouble. For all we know it may just be a rumor about clearstation shutting us down at the end of this month. We have mixed messages on it.

Evidently they got the charting going the way they want it now at I-Hub. I think, anyway.

    This is a test . . .

Still have the sell flag, but looking pretty grim for bears if this doesn't turn around . . .

Something needs to break, fast . . .

    Good Luck and Good Trades!

Hi, maripishu, we've got heavy algo buying this morning. Programmed trading shows big ticks taking out bears. Most likely will retrace 50% of this move this morning. As I look, there's selling into the highs right now.

IMF Agrees to more funding. Not sure the link will work, so here's a summary. Thought it was a good summary. (swiped from GreginBaltimore)
    https://secure.forex.com/Curre...

After a messy start to the day the markets received an enormous boost from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) after it announced it is proposing an expansion to $1 trillion of its lending resources to support any worsening of the Eurozone debt crisis (read more trouble for Italy and Spain). Although this is only a proposal from the IMF and comes a day after IMF chief Christine Lagarde held an executive board discussion about the adequacy of the fund’s resources, it hasn’t stopped the markets from rallying strongly. An official at the fund said that the IMF is pushing oil exporters, China, Brazil, India and Japan to be the top contributors, while Eurozone nations have already pledged a further EUR 200bn of funds. Lagarde stressed the urgency of boosting the fund, which should maybe spook investors as it suggests that problems in the region could get worse before they get better – after all, Italy still has EUR 300bn of debt to roll over this year. On top of that Greece’s next big bond redemption on March 20th is proving to be problematic as the Greek authorities negotiate a haircut with their private sector creditors, but when things get rough the markets want liquidity, and right now that is being dished out in bucket loads. Not only do we have the IMF trying to boost its resources, but we also have the ECB offering long term funds for banks, the next LTRO auction comes at the end of February and could attract nearly double the EUR 500bn demand for funds it attracted at its last auction in December. Markets are liquidity junkies, so it is no surprise that today’s move prompted a big move higher for risky assets. The EURUSD seems to have decisively broken above 1.28 but failed to reach 1.2850 – a key resistance level. If EURUSD can’t break 1.2850 then the rally could lose steam. The knee jerk reaction to the IMF news is to be expected, however, could the markets be over-reacting? There is no commitment of more monies for the IMF, and the US and UK have already come out and said they won’t pay in any extra to the fund to prop up the Eurozone, so Lagarde has a tough round of negotiations to try and reach her $1 trillion target, especially since the current IMF war chest is only $385bn. This could be why we have seen risk slip a little after the immediate bounce higher. However, European bond markets continue to stage a recovery post this news. That is no surprise, since the IMF financial back stop specifically for Europe should give investors more confidence in investing in Eurozone debt.

I am watching to see what silver does with a take-down in Indices before jumping into agq again.

    (from HistoryMaven)

    "Historic PSLV Offering

Sprott is currently offering up to 1.5 Billion dollars worth of PSLV at a fixed price. This could be a historic milestone in the ongoing EE battle to control silver/gold prices. If I am right Sprott has probably gained commitments from different silver mines to sell them the silver for which they now have or are getting commitments from PSLV buyers to purchase.

If I am right the EE ( a combination of the FED and the TBTF banks acting in concert with CFTC and other government regulators) will now do everything possible to discredit this PSLV offering. This could include smacking down the price of paper silver to make it more difficult for Sprott to obtain buyers and closing the mines who are selling to Sprott (maybe HL). IMHO

Sprott or their agents handling the sale have probably discussed this with potential buyers and, if sold properly, EE's actions now could totally backfire on them. The second leg up is now likely beginning if this offering has been handled properly. I have some confidence that Eric Sprott knows what he is doing and he is almost optimally positioned, but the EE is a formidable adversary. Whatever happens this could be interesting."

Regarding Euro/US dollar chart, here is an excellent one...

I'll just link it to my clearstation post because it's a big one so as to allow the annotations readable.

A close above 30.58 in silver would be bullish.
