Something to be aware of if you don't already know about it.

Some magnetrons have beryllium oxide (beryllia) ceramic insulators, which are dangerous if crushed and inhaled, or otherwise ingested. Single or chronic exposure can lead to berylliosis, an incurable lung condition. In addition, beryllia is listed as a confirmed human carcinogen by the IARC; therefore, broken ceramic insulators or magnetrons should not be directly handled.

Probably a bigger hazard from being stupid while testing the unit.
If anyone does "try this at home," make sure you:
1) understand the effects of microwave energy;
2) understand the effects of high voltage electricity;
3) have proper RF/radiation shielding (especially make sure the magnetron emission is directed only in one direction);
4) use a quality RF radiation detector while testing your new "toy."
5) do NOT "test on people or animals."
An improvised Faraday Cage can mitigate the effectiveness of such a weapon.
Perhaps a poncho lined with tight meshed metal screen and Mylar?
Microwaves can also be deflected - aka return fire.

If We the People fail to independently audit Fort Knox, then how will we know the amount of Tungsten backing the FRN?
If the sht hts the fan and they have mass rioting these things wont stand the brunt of a well placed 308 round. They seem to forget the US is the most armed country in the world.
