Job transfer

Well after more than a year hating on my job et. al. I finally got a transfer, and pay-cut as I'm no longer on-call. Jokes on me I guess,
but at least I get my evenings/weekends back...

I hate the on-call part of my job, it interferes with my side money work.

Very early on in my career I had a position where I had to carry a pager (anybody remember pagers?). I hated that damn thing and once I resigned I resolved that I would NEVER take another position where I was always on call.

So how do you feel about the trade-off? Is the paycut versus having evenings & weekends to yourself worth it? Just curious.
I would assume it depends on how much the cut was. Something like 5% would definitely be different than something like 25%.

Pretty close to that 5%, so yeah not a big hit in the scheme of things, but I need to
pay down more of this debt. Plus I have some future plans, that I know will cost a
fortune.. lol.

I should really start a business again, and stop working for others.
